Even though Landon was only doing half days at work, which mostly consisted of mountains of paperwork, it was still wearing. Karen had been with them for three days and they were finally all falling into something of a routine. She had volunteered to go job hunting, but Trey had convinced her that no one would hire a woman eight months pregnant. He tactfully hadn’t mentioned her pathetically short resume that consisted of a little fast food work and a library assistant position. The fact she was still healing from the assault was discussed only briefly.
