Chapter 7 Routine was a good thing, but not easy to achieve. It took two weeks for Karen to adjust to life with Trey and Landon. Trey was on night shift and Landon was working six hour days, still on desk duty but continuing to heal. As Landon headed for the door to go to work, Trey grabbed his arm. “I picked up the crib for Karen’s baby before work last night. Can you have a go at putting it together tonight?” “You bought the one that comes in about a hundred and fifty separate pieces didn’t you?” “I don’t know if it’s really that many. The box claims there are instructions.” Landon rolled his eyes. “I’ll try. But don’t blame me if it ends up looking like it was made for a squid.” Trey grinned and pulled Landon tight to his body. “Thank you.” He cupped his hands around Landon’s face
