The pain in his body was finally down to a dull roar when someone put a hand on his shoulder. When he opened his eyes, he expected to see a nurse. It was Trey. Landon knuckled his eyes trying to wake up. This wasn’t the hospital; it was Trey’s house. “Time to eat.” Landon looked up at Trey and was tempted to refuse, but he’d barely eaten anything all day. The pain had been too intense to deal with appearing as normal as possible and cope with anything else at the same time.
