"Alexia, I'm—" Scarlett said to Alexia who cut her off by saying, "How the f**k can you be so f*****g careless?" "I'm sorry but I need personal space.." Scarlett opposed making me furrow my brows in confusion. I was lost. "You'll have enough personal space when you'll be six feet underground," Alexia snapped, "As for now, for your own good and mine, f*****g take those bodyguards with you!" "Alexia, what are you doing?" Carl asked, holding Ben while I was leaning against the wall, watching the drama. Front row seats. "I do not want to have any bodyguards!" Scarlett snarled, gritting her teeth, "you don't understand. I feel suffocated! If you want me to stay safe, stop working for your father, Alexia. I'm tired of having his enemies coming after me, that is the reason why I left him in the first place. His lifestyle is too dangerous. I don't understand why his enemies still come after me—I'm tired , Lex. I want to live freely." Alexia's mother's officially the dumbest woman I've ever met. I mean, what did she expect? "Mom, just listen to me for once. Take at least two bodyguards with you. I'll hire them, you won't even know that they're here." Alexia tried to make her mother understand calmly. Why couldn't Scarlett understand that she was doing this for her own good? "I will not take bodyguards with me," the older woman defied, shaking her head, "If you want me to stay safe from your father enemies, stop working for him and come stay with me. His enemies should understand that he does not love me anymore. We have both moved on!" Why don't you write that on your f*****g forehead so they could know? Never mind— "It is not his enemies that are after you. It is him! If you want to die then f*****g die," Alexia had her jaw clenched, ,"I tried my best to make you understand this but no—His enemies do not give a flying f**k about you. He is the one who wants you dead. I'm so done trying to keep you safe while all you're doing is putting the blame on me. It's not my fault that you're in danger, alright? It's not because I'm working for him." "Alexia, I'm—" "If you're going to apologize then please save it," Alexia cut her mother off, "I have somewhere to be." She then turned to me, "let's go." I only nodded in response before walking towards my car with her beside me. Once we were inside, Alexia didn't say a word, she kept quiet and stared outside. "Do you have anger management issues?" I joked, his eyes fixed on the road ahead as I drove. She didn't reply. I sighed and decided to ask another question, "Why does your dad wants to kill your mom?" Again, she didn't reply making me groan in frustration and annoyance as well. After a few minutes of silence, I remembered something. "Will you go to the mafia gala with me?" This somehow managed to get her attention. I was looking at her, waiting for her answer while glancing at the road every now and then. "Stop looking at me otherwise none of us will be going at that gala—we'll be in the hospital or worst, dead." Alexia replied, turning her head to look at me. "So you're coming with me, sì?" I asked with a smirk tugging at my lips which made her groan but nodded, "Yes I will. Happy? Now concentrate on the road." I smirked but fixed my eyes on the road ahead again. Well, at least I had a date—a hot one at that. "I already informed Dad about what Gabriel has planned and he already informed your dad," she looked up from her phone screen, "We have to go to my house now. Your family's already there." I only hummed in response. "Did you always want to do this?" She asked, this time, it was her who was staring at me. I glanced at her then back on the road, "Do what? Drive?" "No dumbass," she rolled her eyes, "Killing, leading—be in the mafia and all that." I was quiet for a few seconds, thinking about her question, "Honestly?" "Lie to me." She muttered sarcastically making me chuckled before replying, "No. I didn't but I had no choice. My father convinced me to take over somehow. It's family business, after all." "Do you regret it?" "No." I responded. I didn't want to do this at first but then I got used to it and started enjoying everything shortly. "What did you want to become?" "Becoming the CEO of the Company has always been my goal," I replied, sighing, "I always wanted to run that company ever since I was a kid. What about you?" "What about me?" "Did you want to become what you are?" "No," she shook her head, "but my father didn't give me much of a choice." "What did you want to become?" "Like you, I also wanted to become the CEO of the Company only," her voice was soft, "becoming part of the mafia was never in my agenda. Dad told me that he was the Russian Mafia leader when I was twelve. But he has been training me ever since I was five, so that one day I could take over his stupid mafia." "We don't always get what we want." She scoffed, "I know right." After a few minutes, I pulled the car to a stop as we reached Alexia's house. Both of us got out of the car and entered the mansion. Everybody where there, including my family. Alexia led me to the living room where they were all sitting. "They are here." Austin said with a smirk making me internally groan, "Where have you two been?" "On a mission." I replied and sat down on the blank seat. Having no other seat available, Alexia sat next to me. What a coincidence—not that I'm complaining. "So now that everyone is here, let me explain our plan," Noah said and gained everyone’s attention. I leaned comfortably on the seat and awaited for his so called plan.
