Vander stood still, his breathing ragged, but he didn’t fight against the hands restraining him. The anger in his eyes had dimmed, replaced by a mellow look I just couldn’t wrap my head around.
My heart pounded so hard I could feel it in my throat. I shouldn’t be here.
“I said what the hell is going on here!?” The Alpha’s voice thundered through the hall, rattling my ribs.
I flinched, instinctively shrinking back, but Vander didn’t move. He just stood there, blood staining his hands, his chest rising and falling in heavy breaths.
Alpha Killian’s furious gaze swept over the mess. The bloodied floor, the torn shirts, and finally, Knox, barely conscious, held up by the guards. His face was a wreck, swollen and bruised beyond recognition.
