It was so cold outside. I didn't know where I was even going, I just kept walking. My own Mother actually just kicked me out of my house. I never thought I'd see the day. I've always been the 'good' child. Following orders, never getting grounded, etc. But Riley and Hannah? They do whatever they want, whenever they what. I couldn't help how I felt about Lloyd. I was worried about him too. I kept telling myself that he is fine. But there was only a certain amount of time that that would work. And it seemed like that time was now, I dropped to ground, tears streaming down my face. Where would I go? I didn't know this town as well as I thought. I had no concept of where Jaime lived, nor did I know where Amy lived. I was absolutely and undeniably lost. I didn't know what to do with myself. I clutched the locket that hung round my neck. Inside it was a picture of me and my family, but I didn't dare open it. I didn't want to cry anymore. I breathed in deeply, getting a grip of myself again. I got up, put my long hair up in the hairband I keep around my wrist, and walked. It was really dark now, I couldn't see anything, but with the 'click, clock' noise my boots were making, I could tell I was walking along a path.
Then something grabbed me around the neck, pulling me backwards. I gasped for breath but I couldn't get any. I was struggling, but whatever had a hold of me was strong. Too strong. I tried to scream but a hand tightly covered my mouth. There was nothing else I could do. Feeling hopeless, I let my body go limp. Struggling felt pointless, and so did I. I fell unconscious.
When I woke up it was daytime. I could see clearly that I was in the woods. I tried to get up but something was keeping me tightly tied to a tree.
So I hadn’t died, I was just tied to a tree. In some way I was relieved. Someone was walking towards me, I had no idea who they were. I'd never seen them before.
But I knew what they were, as he walked towards me he smiled. Revealing a set of fangs. Perfect, a vampire. Just my luck. What did he want with me? And then more people appeared, and to my guess, they were vampires too. Even more perfect. There were twelve in total, a whole coven. All going for me.
"And why have you tied me to a tree?" Raising my eyebrows. I felt a little cocky and sarcastic for some reason
"We know you're a hunter. I think it's obvious that we want to kill you. And your family, too. My name is Vaughn. And this is gonna be fun." He says politely, for a vampire.
I didn't feel so sarcastic anymore. In fact, I felt sick. And scared. Vaughn walks closer to me, still smiling with his fangs. He leans forward, pushing my head to the side, resting his chin on my neck. And before I knew it, his fangs pierced into my flesh. I screamed out in horror. The pain was even worse than when Lloyd fed from me. I didn't get the tingling sensation this time. Only pain. Horrible, horrible pain. I bit my lip, trying to ignore it. But it wouldn't go away.
"Leave her alone!" A voice shouts. Vaughn stops drinking from me and turns his to the direction of the voice. It was Baelan. As he walks closer and closer to where I was, he ripped out every single heart of the vampires watching Vaughn and I. None of them could react fast enough to his actions. And then Vaughn becomes the scared one instead of me. Fear covers his entire face as Baelen sticks his hand into his chest. Baelan gives Vaughn a quick goodbye.
“I'm going to kill you now”. Baelan smiles sarcastically as he rips out his heart. Vaughn's body falls to the ground, lifeless.
Baelen unties me and wipes away most of the blood dripping from my neck.
"You okay?" He asks, concerned.
"I'll be fine, how did you killed them all so fast?" I ask, curiously.
"They were newly turned. Created by the First Borns to come and kill your family. Leila, they have Lloyd." He replies.
And there it was, I felt sick again. The First Borns had found us, and they had Lloyd captive. This day couldn't get any worse.
"Come on, let’s go find my Brother." Baelan patted me on the shoulder.
I guess I had no choice but to follow him.
