Chapter Seven

944 Words
Leila. I think the worst part of the College day are the unbearable few minutes you’re sat there doing nothing, waiting for the bell to go so you can go home. Only I wasn't planning to go home, I was planning on going to the woods and looking for the vampire my brother had killed. I know for a fact that Riley wouldn’t have had time to dispose of them. And knowing my brother’s attitude, he has for certain left the vampire for their friends to find. And there it was, those two bells that made your life happier, I only attended 2 classes of the ones I had today, and everyone was really nice, introducing themselves to me. I think I made some new friends; this really nice girl called Jaime was the first to introduce herself and show me around, and her best friend Amy along with her boyfriend Niall who are also very nice. I practically ran through the corridors, managing to make it successfully all the way to the car park staring at the ground, I figured people wouldn't want to chat to girl staring at her own shoes. It worked, until I am greeted by a pair of legs, I move left to let them walk past me but they just copy my movement and stand in front of me again. I look up to see who it was and meet a pair of beautiful blue eyes staring back. Lloyd, of course it was Lloyd. He always wants to chat when I don't. I tighten the grip on my bag that is flung over my shoulder, still maintaining my glare without getting completely lost in his eyes. "Look Lloyd, I'm sorry but I really can't talk. I have to get home. Maybe another time." I say hoping he will understand but typical Lloyd just started talking. "I need to talk to you, it will only take a second." He pleaded with his eyes going all puppy dog on me. I roll my eyes and nod and he continues to talk. "I just wanted to apologise for the way I acted earlier, my brother was hassling me." He said apologetically. "Is that all?" I ask. “Although I’m grateful for the explanation, you don’t really need to give it to me. I understand, everyone has a bad day.” I won’t lie, I did want to know why he was acting so strange. "Oh, and I happen to be a very fast walker." He smiles at me, he didn’t look a hundred perfect back to normal. I could tell, but I was happy that he wanted to make it up to me. "Are you asking to walk me home?" I ask, tilting my head to one side. "Maybe. Come on let's go, you surely don't want to spend any more time on this campus than you need to." He winks at me, and with that we start walking. What I had learnt about Lloyd is that he never runs out of conversation. Which is good because I'm not one for 'banter'. We exchange phone numbers, too. And I know he feels smug after I refused him yesterday. I wanted to walk through the woods, however the forest shortcut may have led to the potential of finding a dead vampire. And something tells me that find a dead body may not be the finest way to make friends. We make it to our street and Lloyd's house comes before mine, as I come to stop at his driveway he walks straight past me without a care in the world, as if he doesn’t even live here. "What are you doing? Your house is this one, right?" I ask, pointing towards the house. "Yeah that's my house, but I said I'd walk you home. So that's what I'm doing." He says with a big grin on his face. "Fine, fine." I say continuing to walk again. In about ten seconds we reach my house, he walks me all the way to my doorstep and we say goodbye to one another. As I walk inside and close the door, I watch Lloyd walk back to his own house. I lean against the door for a bit, smiling to myself. Did I like Lloyd? In that way? I've only known him for 2 days, could it be possible I already liked him? It felt right, even though I hadn't known him very long, and I hardly knew anything about him. And then it hit me, the woods. What was I doing thinking about boys when a dead body is in there? I need to find it before someone else does. What if someone already had? I quickly (but quietly) grab a set of keys and head back outside and into the woods. The body is nowhere to be found, despite searching everywhere. Had it already been found? I turn to go back, Riley may have actually been hit with some common sense and got rid of it. I had nothing to worry about. And then I see someone carrying a dead body with a stake in its heart, was that the guy Lloyd was with earlier? I quickly dart behind a tree, hoping he doesn't spot me. And with luck, he walks straight past me. All thoughts surrounding the dead vampire leave my mind, the problem has been resolved. And now other thoughts fill my head. That was someone Lloyd knows, carrying a dead body. This person knows about vampires, does Lloyd? I need to follow this person.
