ANNALISE. "I'd like to leave now please" I finally spoke, trying to get away from him. I hurried past him, stopping as I heard him snap his fingers and two huge men came into the room, blocking my exit. I turned around to see more men had surrounded the room. "You thought you could leave like that?" I tried to run for the door but I was caught and brought back to Mr Alexander's front, this time on my knees. My hands are captured behind me. Fear tore through my chest. "Take her inside." I heard him say. At this point I started to kick and fight but the men effortlessly pulled me and hauled me into a room. Suddenly, a sack is pulled over my head, setting me back into a strange darkness. "Strap her down." I heard a different voice now, then I'm being strapped against a hospital bed "Please let me go!" I screamed and tried to break free but it was impossible. I felt a sharp pain on my arm, and I winced in pain. I cried and kicked my feet but it didn't help. "I really hope this works. She's our last hope." The person I assumed just took a sample of my blood said as he moved away from me. "You better make it work, doctor! You know what is on the line!" Another voice roared in sheer frustration. What were they doing to me? Wasn't this a surrogacy? "Let me go!" I screamed. Suddenly, I felt a strange pain in my arm again, like I'd been injected. I started to wiggle so I could get the cover from my face. After a while, I started to lose my consciousness. I wake up again. The bright light burnt my eyes. The blindfold has been removed. Then an angry face came over me.. the face of that man. Alexander. "You failed!" He purred into my face angrily "you didn't pass the f*****g test! You f*****g failed gorgeous!!" I shook at the volume of his voice. "You're just as useless as the rest of them! Damn it!" He roared. I was completely clueless as to what he meant that I failed the test. What the hell happened to me while I was passed out? "Get her out of my f*****g sight!" He screamed. The said doctor starts to approach me to inject me again "No no please. Please you have to give me this money. I need it please!" The needle pierces my arm, and I slowly dwelt into emptiness. I woke up with a heavy head and found myself laid on a cold metal bench. I jolt up, completely clueless as to where I was. I'm at some hospital. By the time I realized where I was, I was racing into the hospital. "I need to see my mom!" I walked as I hurried towards the ward. Before I could push the doors open, the doctor walked out and tried to stop me. "Anna, you need to calm down." There was something about how he talked. I tried to look over his shoulder to see the inside. The bed was empty. "Where is my mother?!" I wailed. "Anna, you disappeared for one week," the doctor started "when you came back you weren't yourself, mostly sleeping. You were tested and discovered that you were given a heavy doze of a strong anesthesia. You constantly woke and slept since then." "Where is my mother?!" I demanded, ignoring the flashbacks of what had happened at that mansion that was spiraling about my head at the moment. "I'm sorry, she died last two days ago. You weren't conscious enough for me to tell you." My heart shattered. All I need, endangering my life to get into that mansion was all for nothing. I let her die. "And there's also something you need to know," the doctor said, a bit of pity edging his voice "during the test, we discovered that..... You're pregnant, Anna." I hurried out of the hospital, my head spinning. I failed my mother. I rushed out of the hospital and tried to find my way back to that mansion as everything that happened that night started coming back to me in fogs. The house was completely empty, not even a single worker present. I didn't find mr Samson as I went back home too. Two days later I was looking for a way to give my mother a good burial, I couldn't fail her again. I found a job at a restaurant where I'd wash dishes for ten dollars every day. Then I could finally come up with enough money to buy my mother a casket and buried her all by myself. I went back home and tried to gather the last of my things. Now it was me alone against this world. As I stood in the middle of my room, I cradled my stomach as I remembered that I was with a child. The child of a man I didn't know. I went back to the library and logged back on my university caps. Id accepted that admission thinking things would get better. But it had only gotten worse after a few days. And now, I knew I couldn't handle any of that with a child in my stomach. I'll have to get rid of one of them. As I exited the room, my phone started to ring. I picked it and a voice came on "miss Annalise Potter?" "Yes." I responded uncertainly. "Congratulations on your admission Miss potter, we are delighted to inform you that a welcome party is being held next week for all the new intakes on admission under scholarships" Scholarship? My legs gave in and I broke down on front of my lawn, crying. "Miss potter?" The voice continued from my phone on the ground. "Are you okay Miss potter?" I am more than okay. I am going to deal with everything.
