Chapter 2

1253 Words
Jordan, I groan, feeling the pain in my limbs from the intense running from my pack, The wounds I have. I feel something soft under my hands as my fingers grip. I try to remember my last memories before I passed out from exhaustion. My eyes flew open. The Grizzly! I thought sitting up. I groan holding my side from sitting up quickly. I look around looking at the room is neat and modern, mostly farm look mathcing the wood cabin. My heart beating out of it’s chest, I sniff the air and smelled it’s in fact the grizzly’s home. He took me to his home! I see I am dressed in a flannel. And some baggy shorts that are both way too big for me. I slowly got out of bed, almost stumbling due to all the running. I tip toed out of the bedroom. ‘Okay Jordan, just keep quiet and make a run for it the first chance you get.’ I thought I was walking cautiously down the narrow hallway, I pass a giant mirror. I see the injuries I have. I’ve got severe bruising to my face, I have cuts all over my face which has butterflie bandages, I have gauze wrapped around my head, arms, legs, I lifted my shirt. I also have guaze warpped around my waist and stomach. That was odd. I’m not used to people caring about me. I shook my head and continued walking down the hallway when I heard talking. “Jax I’m not kidding! I need your advice. I’ve never heard of such a thing before in my life!” I heard a man shouting. I cautiously look around the corner, seeing the man’s back towards me. He was on the phone running his hand through his hair. I saw the door a few feet away from me. But closer to the man, my wolf is telling me to relax that we are safe with this man. That he saved us, But I just can’t seem to relax not after everything that has happened. I took a deep breath and bolted for the door. Just as I’m making it through the thresh hold. I am caught in a bear hug. Lifted off my feet, I started to panic, thinking this was going to be the end of me. So I do the one thing I can think of beg, Beg for mercy. “P-Please I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to trespass on your territory. I didn’t mean it,” I started rambling so he didn’t kill me. “I’m not going to hurt you.” The man spoke in a gruffy voice. This confused the hell out of me, Why not I trespassed on his territory? “What I want to know is how the hell you got in this bad of shape?” He asked, sitting me on the couch. I just shrugged. I’m not saying for a few reasons. One I hardly know this grizzly. Two, if he finds out he might just send me back, and three, what is stopping them from attacking him? Sure, we’re just wolves. A single wolf doesn’t stand a chance against a bear his size, but a pack just might have a chance maybe a 50% chance maybe. He arches his brow. “Okay, how about a name? What’s your name?” He asked. “Not until you tell me yours,” I spoke quickly and quietly, beyond terrified at the situation I found myself in. He chuckled “Alright, my name is Brock and, as you know, I’m a grizzly bear,” He spoke, I nodded call it trust issues, but I’m very hesitant about everything anymore. “Jordan, My name is Jordan.” I spoke quietly. Brock The s**t this kid had to have gone through I don’t want to think about it makes my Grizzly angry. She hardly wanted to give me her name. I had to make sure she knew that I wasn’t going to hurt her, That I was going to keep her safe no matter what. The bond between a bear and cub is very strong and I am feeling it.Bears are very protective of their young, but that is very odd. She’s a wolf and I’m a bear. I’m very surprised that my bear claimed her as his cub. The question is why? “Jordan, I promise you are safe here. I’m not going to hurt you.” I spoke as softly and calmly as I could, trying not to frighten the scared girl. She looked at me with her bright blue eyes. Like she wasn’t quite sure wether or not to believe me. I placed my hand on top of hers, even though she had stitching and gauze on it, I felt this connection, this spark immediately. Her eyes looked down at my hand and looked in my eyes with a shocked expression like she felt it too. But I could also feel that she was a little uneasy about this entire thing. I can’t blame her, I mean she’s just met me, And who knows what happened that made her get all those injuries. She was absolutely terrified and I can’t blame her, Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. This caused her to stand immediately. “Easy, it’s just some of my friends to help me better understand wolves.” I spoke softly. She looked at me like she didn’t quite believe me, “It’s okay,” I reassured her with a smile. I opened the door to see Jax. He has been one of my best friends since I was a kid. Standing 6’3 tall and more muscular than I am, the guy loves to work out. He’s got dark hair and almost black eyes. He can be quite intimidating. Then there is Ethan. He’s a blonde with blue eyes, only standing at 5’9, a very goofy guy for being a grizzly. And last but not least, Cody. He’s a hulking 6’5, just as tall as me with dark hair and hazel eyes. All of us have been good friends since we were in high school. I noticed that Jordan was frozen on the spot, not moving. Suddenly, as all three of the guys looked at her and all stared and all of a sudden, “Mine!” They all shouted. I looked at each and every one of them. What the hell just happened? I looked at them with wide eyes. “What the hell!” I asked. They all claimed her as their cub. How is this even possible? I look back at Jordan who is slowly backing away with her head down,, It’s a stance wolves use to show they mean no threat, to make themselves look small. I looked back at her once more, “It’s alright Jordan, they are friends.” I spoke in a soft voice. They all walked into the house. “Is that her?” Jax asked. I nodded. Not only is Jax the most calm and collected Bear I’ve seen, but he’s also a great doctor and Nurse, He walked towards her and she backed up. “It’s okay Jordan, he’s a very good friend of mine.” I said," I can see why she’s a little sceptical. Jax is a little big and intimidating. She looked at us, then at the ground, Jax looked back at me, “Told you it was bad.” I said, motioning to the shape she was in.
