Bradon woke up in a sunny park in Victoria Park in London. It was the Luna's favourite park in the world. He was confused and could not remember how he got there. Why could he not remember how he got there? While still looking around, his Luna called him to come sit down on the picnic basket with her and Caleb. She looked more radiant than ever, but there was something different about her. She appeared lighter, her skin was glowing, and there was something else that he just could not put his finger on.
"My Alpha, why do you look so confused? Try not to think too much, let us just enjoy our family picnic." finally spoke Victoria, her voice sounding angelic. Alpha Brandon relaxed and sat down mesmerized by his wife, he could listen to her forever. "My love, many things in life are unpredictable, many fortunes and misfortunes can not be avoided. But I want you to know that being mated with you is the greatest thing that could have ever happened to me." continued Victoria, her voice sounding breathy. "Baby, Vicky you know that you are my whole world. Why do you sound like you are saying goodbye? You know there is nothing I wouldn't do for you, my love. What is bothering you?" answered Brandon, his stomach in knots. Immediately realizing that Vicky's stomach was flat.
Seeing his reaction, Victoria quickly managed to say "Our daughter Rose is sleeping on her travel cot. Do not worry." She could no longer hold her tears, instead, she let them fall. She cupped her mate's face in her gentle hands, planting a gentle feathery kiss on his nose and then his lips. The alpha was fully alarmed by his wife's tears and wanted to get to the bottom of the problem and solve it for her as he had always done. "My love, we do not have much time left, me and our kids have to leave now. I promise it is not forever, but I want you to try and fight the darkness that is to come. Do not give up on love, do not give up on everything we fought to build." Victoria was fully sobbing now. Caleb went to hug his father from behind with his tiny and greasy hands. The Alpha was still stunned by his wife and trying to decipher what she was saying to him. "Vicky my Luna, tell me what is wrong so that I can fix it," said Brandon, trying to coax his wife. "Hold on to our love, do not give into the darkness, our time is up honey," said Victoria engulfing the Alpha and Caleb in a group hug
"Brandon, I have no idea how you would like me to proceed in this matter. I was prepared to be a beta my whole life but never for what to do with a dead Luna and a comatose Alpha", spoke James, sounding broken.
James? Where was James's voice coming from? Why did his voice sound so distant? Brandon felt as though he was losing grasp of his wife while frantically looking around to where James was. Was he dreaming? Victoria slipped away from his arms and disappeared right in front of his eyes. He heard a beeping sound that would not stop making noise! He wanted to crush that device under his feet.
"Why would James speak of a dead Luna? Which pack had a comatose Alpha?" he thought. He was confused and wanted to ask questions, but his voice would not come out. What was happening?! Sniffing the room, the only scents there were human scents, medicine and Jame's sandalwood and spicy scent.
Why could he not smell Vicky's cherry blossoms and raspberry scent? Where was Victoria? He started to panic and the damn machines started sounding louder and faster! Within a minute, he counted three sets of steps coming into the room shouting and prodding him. He opened his eyes to investigate what was going on.
His eyes immediately scanned the room, realizing that he was in a hospital bed and there were two male doctors who looked like they were in their fifties and a female nurse who was not older than thirty years old. He frantically looked around for his wife. But instead, his eyes settled on James.
James looked like a shadow of himself, he must have lost like 50 pounds. His usually tan skin was pale with dark under-eyes, he looked like he wanted the earth to just swallow him. James's aura was dark like he had the world's weight on his shoulders.
"Alpha, I, er, I am so sorry, she is not here... She... they, they... um, they did not make it. Luna did not make it." that was the first thing that left James's lips. His shoulders shook violently and his tears fell like a waterfall. "I'm sorry Brandon, I am so sorry"
