The following morning Aaron and I leave the containment camp after thanking Beth and the other nonviables for all of their help and for saving my life. It’s difficult to say goodbye to Beth because she has been my only friend for the last two weeks and she nursed me back to health, but our goodbyes are short because our exit is made in haste as the nonviables sneak us out of camp.  “Why do you think our departure and my presence in the camp was kept such a secret?”  I ask while interlocking my fingers with Aaron’s. We have been walking for only a few minutes, but I could no longer wait to ask him.  “I’m not sure.  It seemed like they wanted to get us out of there as quickly as possible without anyone seeing us. But I don’t know why.” He says pushing a branch out of the way so I can walk by
