Raven had chosen to avoid my calls and messages for a couple of days, which, while it meant I was able to work without disturbance, it did nothing to meet the persistent demands for answers from Brayden. Their wedding date was fast approaching, so he likely felt he was running out of time. He was growing impatient, which told me he was beginning to wonder if his instincts about Raven were wrong all along, which, obviously, I knew that they were. But, my word was simply not enough.
