As soon as the call connected, Madeline wasted no time in asking, "Have you seen today's news?"
"I have."
Jeremy's voice came through, low and subdued.
"And... are you very angry?" Madeline ventured cautiously.
"Yeah, I'm furious," Jeremy responded tersely, his anger barely contained.
"What will you do if you find the person responsible?" Madeline probed further.
"I'll sue for defamation and let my lawyers handle the rest. And the person will most likely end up behind bars." Jeremy's reply was firm, with a hint of resignation.
