Luciana “Oh, how I wished I'd just let him die back then in the woods,” I mumbled under my breath. Maybe all of this would have been prevented; maybe the moon goddess would have created a new path for me, I thought. Just then, I felt a cold sensation behind my back. I turned and saw the king untying my hands. “You're safe now,” he whispered in my ear, but his hot breath against my ears felt like poison against my skin. He tried to touch me, but I shot him a deadly glare that spoke volumes, and I knew he got the message. I had a million emotions surging through my veins right now but didn't know how to express them.
