CHAPTER 19
May 2019.
The bus jerked to a stop. Three passengers got on. The last was a beefy man in his thirties—tattooed arms, a greasy, acne-scarred face and a black cap inscribed with ‘Anarchy’ in large red letters, beside two fingers making a rude gesture.
Benny quickly looked out the window, heart racing. But it was too late; the man had seen him. He made a beeline for Benny and sat down beside him. The bus rumbled out into the traffic.
'Fancy seein' you here, bad boy,' he said. 'When did you get out?'
Rodney had been two cells down from Benny in the Additional Support Unit in Long Bay Correctional Centre, which housed prisoners with intellectual disabilities. Benny soon found out after being transferred there that people with intellectual disabilities could be just as nasty and
