CHAPTER 9
It was only a few hours later that Benny was once more in his usual position outside Olivia's window. He'd arrived later than usual and it was already dark. He peered into the kitchen. She wasn't there, but he could hear the TV booming out from the living room.
On the kitchen bench were two half-full, take-away containers; one was rice and the other some sort of vegetable dish. After waiting for what seemed like forever and becoming hot and uncomfortable, he still hadn't seen her. Was she so engrossed in the TV show, or had she fallen asleep? At 9.00 p.m. he reluctantly disentangled himself from the bushes and crept around the side of the house to go home.
