“What do you mean?”
The sooner the words died on my lips, Beta Malone was on his way out, leaving me to my thoughts. I staggered backwards and manage to hold on to the branch, but ended up touching nothing, which made me fall to my knees.
Tears slid down my cheeks as the shock threatened to get the best of me. I placed a hand on my chest as the horror came down on me in full force. It was not fair how my life has turned on its head without any form of notification.
“What do I do?” I muttered to myself.
I didn’t have the answer to this question. The fact that I would have to let go of everything without a fight, bothered me so much. I couldn’t believe that it was going to come to this at all. Everything was so painful.
