SIMON
“Oh, I-I-I’m so sorry, sir. I don’t even know what’s wrong with me tonight.” She stuttered as she bent over to pick her towel and wrapped it around her body.
Simon kept mute because no words made their way out of his mouth. All of a sudden, his kitchen that was very well ventilated felt so stuffy and if he spent one more minute in here with her, he wouldn’t be able to handle the heat, and so, he snatched his car keys from the counter and made his way to the garage.
He got into his car, and drove out into the streets. Where was he going? There was no definite answer to that question, but all he knew was that he had to get away from her.
He genuinely wished it was someone else that rescued her, because that way, he wouldn’t know that his student was a virgin, and he wouldn’t see her naked body. Why it affected him so much, he didn’t know.
He was a thirty-three year old man that was more than experienced when it came to the female body. He’d seen so many naked women that seeing one now shouldn’t affect him. Women from different socioeconomic classes, races and nationalities threw themselves at him. Why did seeing Zoey Prince’s nakedness bother him so much? Also, knowing that she was out tonight, offering herself so cheaply to junkies made his blood boil. Was she that dumb that she didn’t know she couldn’t get an STI or worse, HIV/ AIDS. If she was so desperate for s*x, there were places she could go that she’d get clean men who got regularly tested.
And now, he was thinking about her s*x life, and was concerned for her. What the actual f**k?
His phone began to ring, doing him a favor by snapping him out of his thoughts. Staring down at it, he saw that it was from his soon-to-be ex-wife. She was video calling him.
Simon wanted to ignore it and continue with his day, but it could be about their son.
Accepting the call, he threw all formalities out the window, and said “What is the reason for a video call this late?”
He didn’t even hold the phone up so she could see him. The phone was on the front passenger’s seat, and so, what she could see was the car ceiling.
“Si, let me see your face, please.” She begged.
“Paula, I don’t have time for this. Tell me why you called me.” He snapped. His patience was thinning.
“Your son wants to see you.”
Immediately, Simon picked up the phone but all he saw was Paula’s face.
“Where’s Luca?” He demanded.
“Si, baby. Where are you going by this time?” She asked.
“Paula, I have told you many times to not call me Si or baby anymore. That ship has sailed, although we have to be cordial for our son.”
Paula shook her head. She didn’t want to hear it.
“Baby, I miss you. I miss us. I know I f****d up, but it was a mistake. When they bring the divorce papers, we don’t have to sign it. We can go for counseling. We can go for couple’s therapy. You know relationships do better when given a second chance?”
Simon was tired of hearing the same old words.
“If that’s all you’re going to say then I think you should go get some sleep.”
He was about to end the call when Paula screamed “Simon please wait!”, loudly.
“Si, baby. I miss you so much. This kitty misses you so much. I want you. You know, I’ve been replaying our s*x tapes and I’m so wet. I miss your big d**k. Daddy, I really want you to f**k me again. My p***y needs you.”
Oh no, Simon was so done.
Before he knew it, Paula turned on a vibrator and began to pleasure herself.
“Si, please come and f**k me.”
He ended the call because he was so close to going ballistic and he didn’t want to spew hurtful words at Paula.
Simon spent the rest of the night at a hotel.
…
Simon stayed back at the hotel for a couple of hours in hopes that by the time he got back home, she’d be gone.
He sent his maid some money for her Uber.
…
ZOEY
Zoey would have been gone since the crack of dawn, but she had yet to see the person who rescued her and brought her home last night, and so she waited a while.
“Good afternoon, sir. Welcome back home.” The maid greeted, and Zoey got up, a huge smile plastered on her face.
Adjusting her face cap, she made her way to the entrance.
“Good day, sir. I’m grateful for last night.” She
approached him. She had forgotten her glasses at home, and needed to take a good look at his face. Good people like him were scarce.
I’ll be heading home now…” The words stopped making their way out of her mouth once she set her sights on the man.
There was no way.
“Professor Beaumont? I-I…”
All of a sudden, she couldn’t speak.
She prayed he had a twin because if he didn’t, then it was bad.
Her towel fell to the ground, and that meant that he practically saw her naked. Lord, have mercy.
She stood there, unable to speak.
Professor Beaumont simply walked past her, not even acknowledging her or uttering a word.
…
Zoey was zoned out.
She stared at the table, counting down to the end of the class. Twenty minutes more.
“Zoey, it’s your turn.” Someone said, but she was still zoned out.
A loud bang on the table snapped her out of her reverie.
“It’s your turn.” Imelda, her course mate said. Confused, her brows furrowed.
“My turn for what?”
“Oh, so you haven’t even been paying attention?” The professor’s voice pierced through the air.
Zoey was glad she was seated at the back today or else, he’d be glaring daggers into her soul.
“I paid attention, proffesor.” She lied.
“Alright then, do the same thing everyone has done in this class.”
Woah.
She didn’t know what to do.
Taking a deep breath, she got up.
“Professor, can you please repeat the question? It’s a bit hard to grasp.” She begged and the way he laughed scared her.
“So you mean to tell me that for over an hour, you have sat in this class and you do not know what your mates are talking about. And you lied that you were paying attention.” He said calmly. Zoey knew better. This was the calm before the storm.
“I do, sir.” She lied.
“Then speak up!” He snapped.
“The topic of discussion w-w-was...” She paused.
“It was centered around…um.” There was a pause again.
“Zoey, why not do this class a favor and get out!” He barked.
“You have not only disrespected me, but you have also disrespected everyone here.” He continued.
Their tests were coming up really soon, and she would fail if she dared to walk out.
“Professor, I’m sorry. These past few days, I’ve had a lot going on and my mind hasn’t been at rest.” She begged.
“Do you mind sharing your extra-curriculars with the class?” He asked, folding his arms across his chest.
“It-It-It.”
She was getting on his nerves.
“Zoey Prince, not only are you a liar but you’re the most unserious person here. I think it’ll be best if you left the class now.”
“Professor, please.” She pleaded.
“Get out of my class!” He ordered.
Embarrassed and broken, Zoey picked up her bag and walked out of the glass. At the balcony, her phone rang. Staring at the screen, she saw that it was her close childhood friend, Maya.
She debated accepting or declining, but she accepted. She needed Maya’s words of comfort because she was a broken woman
“Hey babe.” Maya said and Zoey sniffed.
“Are you good?” Maya asked when she noticed Zoey was crying.
“I think my professor hates me.”
“Why did you say that?”
“I made a few mistakes when we initially started the course, and since then, he’s been out to get me. Today wasn’t a good day at all. He just sent me out of his class.” She sobbed.
“Why?”
“Because I zoned out. When I tried to ask him the question again. He called me unserious and told me to get out. I’ve tried everything to please him, but I think he hates me. He literally nitpicks at everything I do.”
“Girl, we can’t control the people that like us. If he chooses to be a p***y and act like that towards you, then that’s on him.”
“I wish I could say that, I need to pass his course this semester. He’s literally one of the best in this field in the whole world. That man is so powerful and he has connections all over the world. I was hoping to get on his good side so that once I was done with my Masters, he’d refer me.” She told Maya.
“What are you going to do about it?”
“Girl, I don’t know. I’m sure I’ve lost close to thirty marks in his course already. I don’t know what to do.”
Maya was quiet for a bit and then cleared her throat.
“I think I know what you should do.”
“What?” Zoey asked enthusiastically.
“Give him a taste of his own medicine. I mean, you have lost thirty marks already. Let him know that you’re not a pushover.”
“Really? The man thinks he’s so perfect and he can do no wrong in anyone’s eyes. He’s a dickhead and a f*****g narcissist.” Zoey spat out angrily. It was her first time cursing and she couldn’t believe it was because of that professor.
“Yes, girl. Dish it out to him the way he gave you.” Maya said, enabling her.
“The next time he tries s**t like that with me, I’ll give him a piece of my mind and show him what this mouth can do.” Zoey said.
“Preach Zoey!” Maya laughed.
“Babe, I really need to go and use the restroom before leaving. I’ll call you once I’m home.” She told Maya.
“Alright, love you.” Maya said before the call ended.
Turning around and heading to the restroom, Zoey collided into something so hard it could be mistaken for a wall.
“My goodness!” She shrieked out in fear.
It wasn’t a wall.
Angling her neck upwards, she couldn’t see what it was because it blocked her vision.
She took a few steps backwards and screamed loudly.
“Professor Beaumont!” She exclaimed.
“You’ll show me what that mouth can do, yeah?” He asked, calmly.
“No, I didn’t mean it. I was angry and venting to my friend. The emotions were a lot.” She explained.
She took a few steps back when her back came in contact with the railing. That was it. There was no escape from this.
Suddenly, he walked up to her and seized her wrist, before walking away.
Zoey was too stunned to speak.
He climbed the stairs, his hand still wrapped around her wrist.
Unlocking the door to his office, he ushered her inside before coming in and locking it. He slid the key card into his pocket.
He walked her to the seat opposite his by the desk, and said “Sit.”
“Professor, please, I need to use the restroom.” She pleaded.
“I said sit!” He snarled.
She sat immediately.
He circled the desk, having a seat.
He dipped his hands into his suit pocket and fished out a Cohiba cigar. From the other, he brought out a hip flask, took a swig from it. He lit the cigar, smoked some and then cleared his throat before crossing his legs.
“Zoey Prince, please show me what that f*****g mouth of yours can do because I am all ears.” He said.
