Trey turned, hitting Kyra in the back of the head, knocking her over. She was still conscious, though, “Next time you pull a stunt like that, I won’t just beat your little boyfriend; I’ll rip his throat out.” Devin kicked her in the ribs hard before storming out of the cell. “Kyra! Babe, don’t go to sleep! I need you to stay awake!” I shouted at her. She can’t fall asleep right now. If she falls asleep, she might not wake up, and if that happens, I know I will go insane. I can’t live without her, and I don’t want to. I could tell she was fighting to stay away, “I’m sorry, Blaze,” I barely heard her whisper before her eyes closed. As I yelled at Kyra, I yanked at the chains, praying for a miracle. She wouldn’t wake up, though. I knew she was still breathing, which gave me some relief.
