Chapter 40The Sniper lay flat in the wind-blown grass, his body now full-length behind the M-107 rifle. Below, Carl Harrington walked across an illuminated section of blacktop in the northeast corner of the plant, looking very much like a toy soldier through the crosshairs of the star-scope. In a surreal way, the light intensifier gave him a near animated appearance. Tracking him steadily as he proceeded along the perimeter fence, the Sniper averted his eyes for a second to glance at his wristwatch. The time on his watch told him it was time to proceed.
