“Ms. Avery, you are good to go. The doctor sighed the discharged papers” The nurse came to inform us that Elvy can go home. Finally, I can spend some time to threat her more. I have a suspicion that she will pull a stunt any time to release her friend.
“Can I have the bill?”
Seriously? Doesn’t she know what kind of a hospital I admitted her to? This was one of the finest and most expensive hospitals in the country. She can’t even think about how to afford the bill.
“The bill was settled,” the nurse said with a smile.
“Settled? By whom?” she turned her face into a questioning look.
“By this gentleman who was standing next to you,” the nurse pointed to me. I don’t remember her being there when I was settling the bill, but hopefully, she remembers me.
