I repeatedly cleared out my eyesight. I smiled awkwardly, replying to her unheard calls, “Yeah? I’m listening”. She looks at my mom and gave each other a confused look. “What are you talking about? Aren’t you gonna eat?” Kate said, laughing at me. I roll my eyes and continue eating, “So, what I was saying, is, I’m staying for the night. You’re okay with that, right?” Kate said, looking at me for approval confirmation. “Yeah! You can stay. Uhm,… you mind showing me around the city after lunch, maybe?”.
