Chapter 26 – Looking Back 02

1141 Words
Yannie, the star of my youth. I was so into her the moment I laid eyes on her, or was it the alcohol that’s pushing me to her. I met her at the bar, very loud and messy. I was one of the rooms when I scan something on the dance floor kicking a guy in the stomach, repeatedly, but no one interferes. Nobody helped the man who’s spitting blood on the the dance floor. Everyone was keeping their own business in check. I wanted to get out but seeing that girl’s eyes made me wonder, how am I gonna fight her, sing a chorus or play a guitar, even become a DJ and let her dance on my music. Honestly, I’m not a good fighter, I am a very lousy kickass when I was teenager. I learned some taekwondo, boxing and even a judo after I was kidn*pped and was gone for straight five days. Yeah, I was kidn*pped and guess who was with me when I was kidn*pped? Yannie.   After the fight at the dance floor. I went out to smoke, outside the backdoor. I was literally shocked to see her smoking outside as well. I was so scared that I threw away my cigarette thinking she was some kind of spy or a paparazzi. She smirk after seeing the shocked face of mine and she threw me a pack of cigarette. “You don’t have to pretend to be the big money here. This is my space.” she said.   “I don’t really smoke? I just want to try them.” I defensively said. She continued smoking while I was figuring out what to do with the cigarette. “Do you even know how to smoke” she asked me. I know how to smoke but since I’m still underage and quite the public figure, I tried to lie. “No” I firmly said. Wait, isn’t she an underage too. “Hey, aren’t we the same age?” I asked. She laughed and said “This is so common. Nobody cares if you’re an underage or some grandpa, okay?” she replied.   I can only give a deep sigh and drink some water that I was holding this whole time. I lean next to the door. “Hey, what’s your name? I’m Ian. You are?” I asked. Starting a conversation was the only thing I can think of right now. She just stare at me like I’m hitting on her. “No, no. I’m not hitting on you. I just wanted to know who’s my partner in crime” I said smiling. She laughed and offer a handshake “Patty” she replied. I smirked thinking of a name Patricia “Patricia? Or just Patty?” I asked. “Just Patty. I am a waitress here” she said. Isn’t she too young to be a waitress in a bar?   Looking at the sky I was contemplating on whether to ask her what was that a while ago but I don’t where to start but I asked anyway. “I saw what you did with that guy. Was she hitting on you or something?” I asked but I was nervous asking that one. She laughed and continued smoking. I didn’t know which part of that was funny but whatever. “He was my brother, half-brother. My sister is keeping tabs on me in case I’d go over the line. You know, with smoking and meeting guys on the night and running away in the morning? You know what I mean right?” she questioned me like I don’t know what she meant. I fake a cough because it was getting awkward with this girl. She continued smoking until her grabs another stick and lights it up. I wanted to say to be careful with smoking as it was bad for the lungs but Jona came and told me “it’s time to leave”.   I didn’t see Patty for over a week until I was invited in a celebration with Katie’s birthday in New York and she happens to be there. I invited her to join me for the slow dance that evening and she looks gorgeous wearing that long red gown. “How come you’re here?” I asked. She smiles and said “I didn’t told you that I was friend with Katie? She is a highschool friend” she replied taking a turn and the music started to play real slow. “How do you know Katie?” she asked. I was thinking for a bit what to reply to her answer. I wasn’t friends with Katie, she was one of the girls I dated for a bit just to hang out with back in the days but I think we’re getting to know one another through various events and I get to know how she felt back then which was what I did to her. She actually used me at that time, also, to get back at her thug boyfriend which was fun playing around with her boyfriend, making him angrier everytime Katie and I play the sweet couple that thug didn’t even offer to Katie so it was just a give and take relationship. There was never any romantic one’s to begin with.   I look at her and I see just the way she looks at me. Impatient but still waited to hear how I know Katie, her impatient smile that turns slowly into a half-smile. My mouth started to form a small yet a genuine smile “My ex-girlfriend” I replied. I don’t know but the way she looks at me today seems like she’s into me. I am not being a delusional guy but I know that look. Sue used that looks often and that made her a long time girlfriend of mine. After the dance, I asked her if she wants to hang out somewhere else than this mad crowd of people that is so full of vibrant colors and loud music and it seems like it’s getting to be a much more wild party from now on. “Yeah, sure, follow me” she guided me to a back exit of sort, she must really like the back exits. A couple of stairs leading to a big room that looks like Katie’s bedroom, maybe. She stopped and started taking off her dress and went to the bathroom.
