20 - Maeve Stanley’s proximity distracted me, so it was a good thing he was scouring the railing’s posts in my back. That gave me plenty of time spying on Kathleen and the doctor. Each was working in his or her spot, but one would cast a quick glance at the other, before looking at an interesting spot they had missed. I had been a student long enough to witness similar interplays, especially in committees.
