(Rose’s POV) I didn’t realize I’d forgotten my key until I was standing in front of my apartment door, digging through the bottom of my Gucci bag like a raccoon at a waste bin. First, I checked the inner pouch, then I unzipped the corner, but it was nowhere to be found. Only then did I think back: I must have dropped it on Angela’s couch earlier today when I stopped by to deliver the health supplements she had asked for.
