(William’s POV) The time was 2:07 p.m. Voices of excited children and soft music drifted through the outdoor amphitheater at Leisure Park, a serene public space nestled in the foothills of Los Taniz, Los Angeles. Parents filled foldout seats while picnic blankets lay stretched across the soft, well-nurtured grass. Thick, healthy plants and shrubs bordered the open space, and near the side stage, volunteers handed out programs and lukewarm juice boxes.
