It had been a week since Zoe erected the barrier that protected the entire village. While Nikoli had come and gone from the house due to his duties as Alpha he would make sure that Zoe would not be left alone. Either Jyde or Lex would stop by to visit and keep her company while she was healing.
There were times when the good doctor, Coleman, would come and check on her healing progress. Zoe had expressed to Elder Grace about the goings-on at the temple. She wanted to know how they had faired after she created such a powerful barrier. However, the elder stated to the young maiden that both the High Priest as well as her mother, who was the acting Acolyte expressed that Zoe did not know anything about the business of the temple anymore.
This left Zoe not only discouraged but disheartened
