JOANNA'S POV
I manuevered the car in the wide parking lot of the city mall. I immediately went out of the car wearing my black shade. I just had my small black purse with my phone inside. Gladly, I walked comfortably with my white sneakers on.
The coffee shop that Jea and I will meet, is located on the second floor so I took the escalator up not minding the people around me. I am not a snob person but I am not used to getting along with many people. Jea is one friend that was left to me because she was the only one who was there for me. Although, I don't disclosed to her some private stuffs and my personal feelings. I still consider her as my closest friend.
I was just near the glass door when Jea noticed me.She waved her hand at me and I smiled back at her. I went straight to her table at the end corner of the shop. We made a fist sign of our hand, that's our endearment of our friendship, that idea came from Jea of course. Who am I to disagree with her? anyway, I find it cute and sweet although our other classmates find it over-acting and kind-of childish.
"Jo, I am glad you are here, I miss you, really miss you," she mused and made a puppy eyes.
"Shhhhhhh.. you are really crazy Jea! We have been together yesterday, really missing me ha? " I joked.
"Of course friend, now you think I am joking, okay fine, let's order, wait stay here! It's my treat."
I nodded at her and saw her talking over the phone to someone while walking to the counter to order our fave blueberry cheesecake milk tea. I got my phone inside my black purse and busied myself scrolling down the social media while waiting for Jea to bring our orders.
I was captivated and hooked up with the ads about Isla del Azul which was featured in one social media I am looking at, when suddenly a baritone voice talked behind my back.
"Here's your order Ms.Beautiful!Enjoy!" his masculine voice seemed familiar so I look back behind me, and I found Jacob standing with a wide smile in his face, his two hands carrying our orders.
"Oh, its you,Jacob!Where's Jea?" I asked indignantly.
"Oh, she'd excused herself, she needs to go to the bathroom, she'll be back then,"he explained.
He seated next to me, he came too close and gave me my milk tea.I accepted and gave thanks but still I am not comfortable with his presence beside me.
I rolled my eyes in anticipation.This is a set-up.I knew it, Jea is the culprit,she really was a pain in my ass eversince.She knew all along that I don't entertained suitors, so boys can't go near me so that's why she made this.
It is now clear to me what she had said over the phone that I'll miss the fun and enjoyment if I will not come to see her.So, this is the fun and enjoyment she is talking about.The nerve of that friend of mine!
I knew that Jacob had an eyes on me.He is one of those boys sending me flowers and stuffs but I just gave it all to Jea.I just don't feel accepting those things.I don't feel any thrill or exhilarating feelings within me.
Jacob begun talking anything that I don't pay attention with.I just nodded to him once in a while to show that I am listening.I am not rude anyway, so I let him be with me just this once.There's no other next time, I'll make sure of that.
Jea never showed up.Its been a while, Jacob talked non-stop so I let a long sighed and said that I need to go home.He then plastered a sweet smile and bid me goodbye.
Jacob was polite to accept my excuse to go home.Nonetheless, Jacob was a good guy and belongs to a rich family but I don't feel any attraction with him.
I am not a man-hater either, nor an ice queen. Its just that, the right timing for me to fall in love has not yet come in my midst. Jea knew about it that I am not interested to entertain suitors but she had set me-up with Jacob.I will really pinch her butt, if I see her.
