It was a bright summer morning. We had spent the last month and a half deliberating what we could do. There were meetings daily and mostly everyone were staying together at the house. We'd settled on allowing people into the packs, at a distance, for a probationary period. They would not be allowed off of our territory for several months. Makayla and I were taking a walk. She was days or weeks away from giving birth, and she was hoping to bring on her labor by walking. She was sick of being pregnant and swore she would never do it again.
