I wrap Ember up in a blanket and carry her home. I can't believe this is real. But it is. I can feel her. Right now, she is at peace sleeping in my arms. I told her I loved her. And she said it back. I felt it. She meant it. I couldn't be happier right now. Once we get to the house, I bring her to my room and lay her down. She whimpers.
"Don't leave" she whispers, still half asleep.
"Shhh I'm not leaving love" I walk over to my dresser and grab some boxers and a shirt. I put the boxers on. When I get back to the bed, I sit Ember up and slide the shirt on her. I crawl into bed next to her and she snuggles up to me, laying her head on my chest. I quickly drift off to sleep.
