The Eyes! Don't Look At The Eyes.

**Ella’s POV***  I was now left alone in this strange room. I couldn’t shake the feeling that Jake might know something about my situation. I had no idea how long I've been staring at the ceiling until a knock broke me out of my daze. Probably dinner is ready and Lillian is just letting me know. "Come in!" I yelled "Oh Hi! Did I disturb you?" A small girl  of about mid-teen years peeked in and I could hear from her nervous voice she hoped she wasn't intruding "No, of course not. Come in." I gestured for her to come in. She almost looked like Lillian, so I assumed she had to be Marry "Hi I'm Marry, What's your name?" Of course, that means I was right "I...I'm not sure" How embarrassing. A 19-year-old doesn't even know her name, how degrading. "Oh, how about I call you Rose?" "How about Ella? it sounds comforting." "It sounds lovely, since you're awake how about after dinner we go for a walk? I would really love to hang out with a girl for once"  "Uhmm yeah sure ok, that sounds nice."  "Dinner will be ready in a while you want to come downstairs with me?" "Will Jake be there?" "I wish he wouldn't but yes he'll be there" "I think I should go take a shower first but you can wait for me, I won't take long." "Of course carry on, we'll go downstairs together" After my shower, we went downstairs after I embarrassingly got lost in every possible room there was. I could hear everyone talking downstairs and just then Jake Pulled up his face as though he could smell me, did I really smell that horrible?  I couldn't wait to get out of here and go on my walk, that's when I saw two new faces, twins! handsome new faces. Both twins had such strong distinctive jawlines, obviously dyed black hair, and those blue ocean eyes. Gosh, why is everyone here so well built? Even Jake!  "Hi, I'm Owen and you must be the human! How are you?" "The Human?"  What did he mean by that? So weird. Jake cut in "Don't mind him he sometimes uses wrong words, and this is Rowen" he pointed at another Owen-looking person, but he seemed friendly. "Oh ok. Hi Owen and... Rowen. Uhmm so may we eat?" These small talks were just becoming weirder and weirder. ..... It was such an awkward dinner honestly. But finally, Marry and I was heading outside for our walk. I gasped when I saw the building from the outside, a castle surrounded by green forest, I had never seen such beauty. Roses and lilies covering the groundwall in rows.  "Wow this is a castle! are you kidding me?!"  "Oh I forgot you woke up today and you haven't been outside, I guess I could've told you huh?" "I was wondering why your mom is queen and dad is king. so that means you're a princess? Oh, my word!" "We're just the offspring of the alpha and luna." "The what?" "Let me get us some snacks for the walk"  Marry rushed back into the house and immediately a sudden feeling of dread washed over me. I couldn't help but feel exposed and watched. Just then I spotted a brightly red-lit set of eyes from a distance in the dark, far within the forest, whatever animal it was it surely was huge. The more I looked the closer the eyes got, I could feel a cold sweat on my forehead. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, more sets of eyes appeared in the darkness all around the first set, they got closer... ...and closer...  ...and closer...   My legs began to tremble at how high the eyes were from the ground and how closely they got with every second... "Ella! I'm back, what's wrong?" Marry came back and tapped my shoulder, and in a split second the eyes were gone! It's like they were never there. "I could've sworn I saw eyes out there" "It's ok, whoever it was they couldn't have passed the guards, maybe you were just imagining it...or maybe you saw a squirrel?" A squirrel? How could a tiny animal be compared to whatever the heck was out there... "I think I better go sleep" Our walk back was frankly quiet. I saw eyes out there, red glowing eyes. Could it have been a squirrel? I doubt. It had to have been a large animal, perhaps a bear, or something. Who would live in such a dangerous place? "Well that was a short walk" "Steven leave us alone" "I thought I saw something in the forest. It was horrifying" "Something like what?" Jay cut in "Pairs of eyes, maybe Marry is right. It could've been a squirrel." "A horrifying squirrel, run for your lives," Owen said in a monotone voice. I ran back upstairs into my room, I will not stand there and be made fun of, I know what I saw and that was no squirrel. All I ever wanted to do at that moment was sleep and leave everyone alone.  I haven't been long in my room until I realized it was quiet outside...TOO quiet! I wanted to turn and look outside through the balcony glass door but that same feeling from earlier during our walk came rushing in. The eyes, it had to be. I wanted to turn so badly but I was just too afraid, I could hear breathing, it's as if it knew I was awake and aware of it. It took a lot of courage for me to turn... and just there...outside on the balcony... a huge tall dark figure was looking through the thin curtain...looking directly at me. The same red-lit eyes, it was standing there, just looking at me...just when I thought things couldn't get any worse...it got up and now was even larger...  "Definitely not a squirrel1!" I thought to myself before finding myself on the floor.   **Jay's POV*** "It's Huro!" I just couldn't shake that feeling. "Did the squirrel tell you?" For some reason, Rowen always gets worked out over Ella, we all knew if there were eyes out there then they would've definitely been Huro's, we're still uncertain of why we couldn't pick up his scent or how he passed the guards. We'll just have to be on the lookout. For once I think I should just listen to Spike and let him out. An ear-piercing scream broke out upstairs and we knew instantly, Ella was in trouble. We all rushed into her room just to find her cowering on the floor. "Ella! Ella! what happened?!?" Rowen and mom went by her side while everyone was baffled trying to make sense of what had occurred in here. "The eyes! they were looking at me! they were looking at me!" I had to admit, I felt bad seeing her like that. She just woke up today and already her life is upside down.   "Where were the eyes, Ella?" I had to find them, I just had to. "Where did you see the eyes?!! Speak!" "Out...side on... the balcony..." she couldn't help herself but stutter, who'd blame her? She just got the scare of her life. "I need to go outside!" "Jay! Don't, not now. Please." "Mom there's a chance Huro was here, we need to find him and put an end to this!" "How about you four stay guard of Ella tonight and you'll go out first thing in the morning?" "He'll be long gone by then, already his scent is hard to pick up." "Jay she's near breaking down, she needs a sense of security right now. Tomorrow we'll take her to the doctor" After a long pause, I decided to take mom's advice. She's right, Ella needs security, she doesn't know this place at all and that might contribute to her breakdown.
