It took Ella a few seconds to realize what was happening in front of her. A massive brown wolf snuck on them from behind, it wasted no time and jumped over Chase so it could grab him by his throat, Ella watched as this wolf grab hold of Chase, she feared it'll be coming for her afterward. She watched as its sharp long teeth sunk into his throat, his screams were unbearable to listen to. She got up and sprinted to the house looking for both Marry and Steven. She was surprised to crash into everyone on her way in, but what's strange was that they were heading outside.
"There's a wolf out there! Please don't go! Plee-e-eas-se...Jake! No!" her pleading was in vain
"Marry take her upstairs now!" Jake ordered
Jake, Steven, Owen, and Rowen headed out to the scene and found an unrecognized individual lying dead on the cold wet mud. Owen recognized him as one of Huro's men.
"Bill stop! Enough!"
The wolf stood back to take in the horrific scene it caused.
"He's definitely Huro's" Owen commented
"You can tell through this mess?"
"Who else wears this distinct suit? Huro's men, that's who"
"He's right. Owen, Steven go check the premises. Rowen come with me! Bill shift back before Ella comes back or sees you. Meet me back at the Heal House in an hour."
**Ella's POV***
"Marry please listen to me! they're in danger there's a wolf out there!"
"Ella they're fine they can handle themselves. It'll be fine."
"No it won't be fine! there's a dangerous animal out there"
I couldn't understand how she could be so calm while her brothers are out there exposed to a large wild animal. It didn't make sense at all.
"Jake! call Jake!"
"Stay up here and away from the windows. Lock your door please. I'll be back"

Marry knew Ella saw the wolf, there was no way they could convince her it was a squirrel, that'll just be ridiculous. In fact, it'll push her beyond breaking point. But they had bigger things to deal with, the trespasser who got attacked and his agenda.
Marry rushed to the Heal House where she met other pack members waiting for Jake.
"What's going on?" One of the pack members asked
Bill, who was the one who carried the attack sat in the dark corner, realizing he exposed himself to a human, to Ella. Jake wasn't happy about that.
"What do you think Huro wants with Ella?" Steven asked Owen
"I don't know!"
"Where are they coming in from? there are literally guards everywhere, First the eyes, the balcony then this? You know we can't hide from her forever right?"
"Tell that to Jake," Owen said
"I would if he wasn't focused on Huro"
"Tell his 'human girlfriend' then" clearly Owen wasn't interested in having a conversation
"She's his girlfriend..."
"She is..."
"Really?"
"Since when?" Owen showed a sudden interest
"Wait, are you telling me or asking me? Is she or not?"
"You said she is!!"
"No, you said she IS!"
"Let's never speak of this again" Owen approached the guards

An hour finally passed, Jake and the gang met at the HH.
"Everyone is here?"
"Yes alpha!" Rowen answered, "What about Ella?"
"She doesn't need to hear this, she's already going through a lot and I don't want to dig her grave"
"Alpha.." Bill went to Jake "I didn't know she was there, I thought we were under attack and..."
"Stand down, we'll talk about this in the office. Everyone listen! I need you to keep an eye out for Huro or anything out of the ordinary, if you find something then report to me immediately"
"As if a human being here isn't out of the ordinary" Owen interrupted
"Ella might be in danger, we don't know why or how but Huro is after her. One of his men was found in our territory, whatever you do just don't shift in front of her or where she can see you"
"But alpha when is she going back to her place?"
"She doesn't know where she came from, she's in our care now until we find anything about her past. It is our duty to protect her. Are we clear?"
"YES ALPHA!" everyone joined
"Bill...Office...now"
Everyone left the emergency meeting and the gang followed Bill and Jake upstairs into his office.
"Were there more?"
"No alpha, he was alone" Owen answered
"The guards?"
"They're still there alpha, no one came past them."
"Then how did he get in here?"
No one knew how Alpha Huro and his men infiltrated their territory without being spotted or by leaving their scent. It made no sense at all. Jake was forced to put more guards on duty and tighten the security, especially around Ella.
"Bill, from now on you're gonna watch every step of Ella. Follow her everywhere she goes and make sure she's safe. If she talks about seeing eyes in the forest tell her we have squirrels everywhere."
"Horrifying squirrels" Owen added
"Squirrels?" poor Bill was so confused, what do squirrels have to do with Huro?
"Yes squirrels"
"Dude we think Huro and his men were watching her so we told her it was squirrels" Steven clarified
"Don't reveal any wolf-related matter to her, got it?"
"Yes alpha!"
"Go with Marry and she'll introduce you to her"
Steven left with Bill and Marry, he was worried about Ella. Jake had a lot to do to tighten the security, Ella's mental health was at stake. He cared for her more than he'd like to admit, but as the saying goes: Actions speak louder than words.
Back at the castle, Ella didn't want to open the door for anyone. Not only was she petrified but she emotionally felt alone.
"Ella please open, it's just us" Marry pleaded
"No! Go away! Leave me alone"
"Ella please"
"Admit it! there was a wolf out there"
"Yes cupcake there was, that's why we want to talk" Steven answered
Ella finally opened the door and let everyone in including the unfamiliar face, Bill.
"Talk"
"There WAS a wolf out there and the person it attacked wasn't supposed to be here, he's more like a thief." Marry tried to explain
"So what? the wolf is like a guard dog?"
"Excuse me did you just called me a..." Bill paused midsentence "I mean, not really a guard dog but it's just a protector"
"Speaking of protector... this is Bill and he's going to watch over you." Steven grinned
"What about Jake? where is he?"
"He's a bit busy but I'll keep you company" Bill answered
"Thanks," Ella said. "So what happened to Chase? how is he?"
"Who's Chase?" Steven asked
"The guy who got attacked by the protector guard dog-wolf."
"Uhmm can you please not use the words 'guard dog'? it's hurtful". Bill pleaded
"How do you know his name?"
"He told me"
"SO you spoke to him? what did he say?"
"He said he knew how to get my memory back. He was going to take me to his boss, he knows how to help me"
Everyone was just baffled by this revelation. They realized Huro sent Chase to fetch Ella and bring her to him. But why?
"What else did he say?" Steven asked
"It doesn't matter, is he ok?"
He's dead, the moment Bill grabbed his throat it was lights out. But they couldn't just tell her that. He couldn't shift into his wolf to fight back, Bill pinned his throat preventing him from breathing.
"I think we should tell Jake about Chase" Marry suggested
"Tell me what about Chase?"
