The Call

Asu P.O.V

2 months later...

"You integrated yourself really fast" Kim mused 

"It wasn't really difficult" Anna replied 

I was listening to their conversation as I looked over some papers in these past two months Anna made her debut as a model, of course, we had to also lie about her she has now become Kim's adoptive sister the media once again was in an uproar but thanks to godmother's intervention it settled down rapidly I smirked 

"what evil thought do you have now young lady?" godmother walked into the room and all eyes were on me I erased my smirk.

"I was wondering how long will it take for my dearest brother and father to find out who the model they are so trying to seek out is" I half-lie as I saw more request from my brother's company trying to reach me

they all sighed " if they heard you call them as that" godmother disapproved of the formality I sometimes had with them

I got up placing the papers on the coffee table and walked to the windows something about today was making me anxious " it can't be helped"

silence filled the room and the atmosphere turned heavy Kim and Anna found out about my past due to my blood while my godmother was the first one I ever told about it none of them took it well and it took me a while for them to calm down and loosen their hatred towards the people I once called family.

" anyhow..." Anna tried to change the subject " you will think they'll know it's been two years and two months and they are still trying to see you even the media hasn't put the puzzled together."

" Brother and dad kept me hidden from the public eye as much as they could, I don't blame them though if I had gone public it would have created a mess that would have gotten us many headaches to think that my own blood wouldn't recognize me, now that is sad" I shook my head disapprovingly " the only thing that changed was the hair the eyes I managed to get them in a color that was close in resemblance yet nothing"

"but isn't that for the best?" Kim questioned me " I mean if they were to find out that the daughter they wanted to keep hidden" she wasn't happy about that part no matter the excuse " was now a well-known model and designer that is very sought after wouldn't that make them want to drag you back"

" you do have a point " I stretched 

"eventually they will find out" Anna added, " have you thought about going back?"

I facepalm myself forgetting the letter I was supposed to write them and the talk I had with Celene.

"Not a surprise" Celene sighed 

"she forgot" they both sighed and shook their heads 

"how in the world do you manage these with that brain" Kim clicked her mouth 

"  Ah Kim " Anna warn her 

" sweety, be quiet" godmother warned her. 

" It seems like a good day to spar don't you think my dear Kimmy?" I turned with the most innocent smile I had 

"EEP!" she got up and sat next to godmother intending for her to shield her from me 

"Oh no my dear Kimmy that doesn't help you this time" Anna distance herself from her 

" mom" Kim clung to her 

" coward" Anna snicker 

and Kim stuck out her tongue at her godmother laughed and I smiled watching them both interact they did look like mother and daughters Anna's interaction with Kim was so natural it made me feel a bit envious I missed my brother, trying to think about something else  I looked back outside I really did want to go out and let Celene play around but since the attack that Anna's coven suffered they don't want to be out let's not mention Celene who growls at me even when I step outside and only calms down when Anna and Kim are with me.

and return to grab the papers that I was looking over " the company seems to be going well" I looked at godmother who smiled proudly

"is all thanks to you my child" she smiled widely 

"Anna are you okay with the job?" Kim asked her 

" yes, although I don't really like people especially because it was quite difficult to be around them due to the smell of their blood after Sandra helped me and now that I can consume human food and survive on either one it has become somewhat bearable" Anna grinned as she took a huge bite of pizza 

we couldn't help but laugh, godmother saw how painful it was for her to be surrounded by so many humans that she threw herself into research and managed to crack the code and be able to help Anna by giving her the ability to process normal food as she would with blood I still remember the greenish vile of sticky gooey liquid that she had to drink that made want to gag, after that, we figure out how she was able to walk in the sunlight turns out her coven had a ring in their possession but after taking in some of my blood she was able to go out without the need of the ring, she said other coven's had amulets or other types of things to protect them from the sunlight.

"Okay do I want to know why you are making that face?" Anna raised her eyebrow 

"Nope" I smiled and sign some contracts " forward this to them and tell them that is a pleasure to be working with them" 

Kim took the papers and placed them all into individual black folders and set them on the bag " will do" 

" shall we go shopping?" Kim asked beaming with excitement "Mom? sister? Asu?"

Kim quickly came around to say sister to Anna but Anna had just suffered a loss was taking her time to heal I do hope that she will soon call them appropriately.

"Not for me honey" godmother replied 

"nor me" Anna quickly look at me

I shook my head " I rather stay in and" my phone vibrated a text from Mina 

                                                            " problem with one of the garments" 

"Never mind I have to head to the company there is a problem with a garment" I got up " I'll be getting ready then."

the two got up and followed me " let us change to"

heading to the company is always a hassle in here the traffic is beyond horrible and my mood worsens I could feel something but I don't know where is good or bad. 

" Asu what has gotten you to be this anxious?" Anna asked looking at me with full concern 

" I have no clue" I sighed annoyed " and is not a mate that I am sure of"

" and if it is his ass better be ready" Kim crossed her arms in her chest and huffed angrily "if I EVER GET TO SEE HIS ASS UGH!!!"

" Kim you won't ever get to see him" I replied to her " besides it been years already I am sure he already has another mate it has never even once bothered me" 

" I doubt the moon goddess gave that bastard a second chance mate" Anna spoke coldly " and even if we don't ever get to see him, Kim has the right to be angry" she clenched her fists popping them in the process 

I never had to ask Celene about the bond between me and the guardians because for one I never wanted to form this kind of bonds' in the first place second every part of the information regarding this was given to me the moment I mastered my powers, there was one thing I did wonder the guardians are supposed to not only protect the hybrid wolf but if a person brings any kind of harm to the wolf the guardians will feel immense hatred and murderous intent towards that person as if the harm was done to them I never thought that was true frankly I had my doubts about it but now... I don't.

I watched both of them fumed mad shaking my head " this feeling has nothing to with mates let's forget that" I shrugged " it's different"

" We don't sense any danger so it must not be wolf-related" Kim looked out the window of the car 

" let's just be on alert" Anna looked out the window as well 

I sighed, as the car came to a stop and got out heading towards production I rubbed my temples as I saw the commotion everywhere

" may I know how is this a problem?" I asked Mina who looked apologetic 

"Everyone wanted to surprise you!" she quickly defended herself " it was a little white lie to get you here we all saw how you worked so hard this past months just to get this line out and seeing how it went so well right after it just came out that well" 

Kim burst out laughing and to my surprise, Anna as well always tried not to show her emotions unless in front of a camera. 

I was speechless they threw a surprise party I sighed relaxing " My goddess" I whispered " I seriously thought something was wrong"

everyone laughed " we are sorry!"

" But we wanted to do this for you," 

"you didn't have much sleep during these past months that we even thought you would collapse at any given m moment we saw how much you poured your heart and soul into this collection that we just wanted you to loosen yourself even if it was just for a moment so we enlisted the help of Mina please don't blame her" 

I turned to look at Mina who smiles widely proud of her actions. 

" Asu we all know you are not a fan of surprises but let's face it even you needed this" Mina spoke 

" Asu, this comes from the heart of all of them" Kim looked at me 

" Thank you" I smiled " I'll have to admit even for a person that doesn't like surprises I actually enjoy this one" 

they relaxed and some let out sighed of relief. 

" Well, then shall we proceed?" Mina took a controller out and blasted the music the room was filled with dancing and laughter while I remain seated and watching them enjoy it 

" well for the star of the show you sure show some glee" Mina sat next to me " how is Anna doing with the whole adoption thing and the modeling gig?" 

I smirked " it brings memories" I remember my past before I was forced to come to banquets and dance even if I didn't wish to all for the sake of maintaining the facet Mina made a face " Anna adapted very fast with the whole modeling world but when it comes to the other things it's still complicated she did just suffer a loss it took Kim 2 years after all,"

" yea that is very true" she sighed growing 

" mhm," I took a sip of sparkling water I made a face 

" why did your drink that when you don't even like it" she shook her head a smile played on her lips 

" they gave it to me what am I supposed to do? refuse it and be rude?" I looked ahead " anyways Kim isn't lonely anymore" 

" she was lonely?" Mina questioned shocked " how?"

" Kim had through go through the changes alone even if she had me I knew she needed someone who she could connect to that she could share the burden of this" I pointed to myself " I am not easy" 

she laughed at that one " no definitely you're not although to me" she looked at Kim " she wasn't lonely she had you even if you didn't see it you were her first friend after what happened not only that you gave her the motive to keep on living"

"motive?" I scuff placing the now empty glass cup down " how can you call this shackles motive" 

"Asu they are not shackles" she frowned " only you see it that way besides I didn't take you to hate immortality"

" they will see it too," I said calmly and Celene whimpered " I don't hate it nor particularly like it you can say is in between, immortality may seem like a blessing in some ways but eventually it will get tiring and then they will come to hate not only the bond but me"

"they will have their mates" she insisted "They won't be bored"

" IF they have mates, who know what effects my blood did on their fate" I spat back "even Sandra has no clue she immerses herself into research although she pretends it will be fine and talks to them about mates"

"you had one" she sighed " so will they"

"and how did that work out exactly?" I questioned her " I was mated to such a bastard and rejected quite rapidly as well tell me is that what awaits for them too?"

"Are you still hurting over him? she was angry now

"For f***s sake no!" I refrain from yelling " why does everyone keep asking me that"

" relax is just that the way you sometimes speak makes me wonder that's all" she shrugged "they won't have such fate Asu and you will see it too your fate will change I am sure of it"

I look at her studying her and sitting back " I am the last of my kind yet I didn't have luck when it came to mates their fate is intertwined with mine if by some off chance the moon goddess gives them good mates then great they won't spend their whole life alone they will have their mates next to them"

"see now you are getting it" she waved at someone 

I smiled and waved as well " you still don't see it do you" 

"See what?" she looked at me confused raising her eyebrow

" they are immortals" I pointed at Kim and Anna " but their mates won't be"

she gasped and quickly hide away her shocked finally understanding it " are they.."

" I am sure they are" I was stressed out now " and before you ask even godmother has no answer she keeps avoiding it quite impressively actually"

" will you tell them," she asked concern in her voice 

" It's my duty" I smirked " after all I am the one who ruined both of them"

" if they heard-

" Oh we heard" Anna popped out from behind Mina making her jump out of her seat 

" f**k Anna" she gasped 

"Sorry" she apologized but couldn't hold back her evil smile 

" anyways" Kim turned to me " do you really think we can't read your lips?"

I had fought the urge to facepalm myself and passed it with a shrugged.

" Asu" Kim sat next to me " we chose this life whether we are mated to assholes then oh well it has nothing to do with the fact that you gave us your blood"

" Kim has a point, we can always break them" Anna smiled " we understand your fears you wished for a better way for us but we can't tell you enough how much this whole new life means for both of us regardless of what happens we won't come to hate you nor Celene"

hearing her words Celene perked up wagging her tail.

" The moment your blood touched our lips we understood the sacrifice that came with it from your part the fear you have concerning us and even though we can say to you it won't hurt when our future mates die before us you  and us know that is not true it will most likely like hell but we will cherish each moment we have with them and we will hold on to those with all we have and keep looking forward because even though they will be our mates and our other half, Asu you are and will always be our priority and they will understand it"

I fought back tears dammit why am I so damn emotional today I never been this w.

" Now stop blaming yourself and come have fun be free, love this freedom for we will guard it" Anna grabbed my hand and Kim the other pulling me to the dance floor 

Mina was left in tears by Anna and saw her smiling wiping away her stubborn tears that couldn't stop from flowing out and waving at us mouthing to have fun. 

We got lost on the face floor and for the first time I unwinded myself letting the music slowly take over me and dance to its rhythm, we laughed and danced the day and night away like a couple of normal teenagers for the first time.

" Thank you for this beautiful surprise" I smiled wholeheartedly " this truly meant a lot to me and I hope you all also had fun"

they all nodded and cheered making all we chuckled.

" now go and rest" I smiled " there is still a lot of things ahead of us"

each of them congratulated me as they left with big bright smiles.

" Asu is time the car is waiting outside for us" Kim motion me forward 

" aren't you driving?" I asked Kim 

"no too lazy" she waved the thought off 

"was the dance too much?" Anna playfully hit her side 

" A little " Kim smiled sheepishly " by the way speaking of dancing you hoe!"

she jumped on to me " who knew you had those dancing moves inside your damn little ass!"

"Huh?" 

"Don't huh me from what I remember through your memories you never once danced but here let's just say you sure know how to move your booty" she winked 

"Is this why Sandra keeps saying your mate will have trouble with you?" Anna spoke wondering mostly to herself

"what?" I asked shocked " what did I do?" 

"don't play dumb" Mina came forward having finished crying her eyes were puffy and red

" what the hell-

"Kim" I smiled 

"hmm?" Mina looked at her confused and Kim smiled and walked next to Anna who was still thinking 

" Not because I didn't dance in those banquets meant I didn't know how to dance" I shrugged cutting out my innocent act and walking away 

" Now I want to go to nightclubs!" Kim squealed 

"No" Anna ejected her idea quickly 

"AWW but why?!!" she whined 

" nightclubs are usually packed with wolves do you want her to walk into the lion's den?" Anna informed " more like wolf's den?  we already have trouble enough keeping those leeches away from her"

"How many times do I have to tell you that those are models and not leeches" godmother came out of the car 

"Mom!" Kim grinned " wait your driving?"

"yes" she smiled warmly and gave each one of us a hug 

"Still leeches" Anna shrugged smiling as she got into the car 

"they do latch on her quite a lot mom" Kim also shrugged 

she turned to me for help " can't deny that" 

we heard her laugh as she got into the driver seats speeding off 

"And so the nightclub is a no-no-no" Anna smiled at Kim who frowned but nodded  

" that seems like a good idea we don't want Asu in those places they are some wolfs who can't keep their hands off and some even though may not be her mate's could become obsessive so let's do try to avoid that okay girls" godmother spoke in every serious tone as she looked ahead 

Celene growled warningly.

finally, we managed to get home 

"Bring us some warm tea" Godmother order the staff she nodded and left 

the staff was completely made up of witches although the butler and gardeners were human, the house seemed very empty at first and after a while godmother noticed that too and arranged for staff to be here it almost looked like the pack-house back home they are all so friendly and lively,

" your warm teas, and one coffee, " she smiled while placing them down along and behind her came another one with two blows of Korean noodles for Kim and me and a box of chocolate's for Anna 

"How can you like tea" Kim made a face 

" How can you like coffee" I mocked her facial expression 

"touche," she said 

I smiled " I am starving" 

we all began to eat while godmother was looking over her paperwork again.

"Anna are you not eating?" Kim questioned 

"I'll be going out later" she popped the chocolate into her mouth 

Kim no longer shiver at the thought of Anna feeding doesn't feed on innocent humans as we thought from the beginning she prefers going for those who commit sins she said it's a way to contribute to the society she wants to hunt them down the way they hunt down the innocent she likes to incite the same fear they do to their victims. 

Godmother's phone began to ring without looking at it she kept cutting off the call until they kept persistent.

"Answer they might need you for the companies" I looked at her phone intently " they are persisting this much might as well don't you think?"

"Is not- but I will have to pick up someday " she rubbed her eyes and picked up the phone stiffening 

"What?" she looked at me her eyes widen in horror and asking drain from color  

"Diego has fallen ill and is in critical condition Asu doesn't let me through her mind links and " my dad's voice sounded very strained and in pain " this is the only way I could get a hold of you, please Sandra bring Asu back" 

I got up dropping the bowl of noodles from my hand feeling my heart been torn away as the sound of the bowl shattering filled the now quiet room "What?" my brothers smile flashed in my mind and Celene's whimpered echoed in my head stumbling from the shock and pain mixed my brother who I swore to protect has fallen in critical condition 

"ASU!" Kim and Anna rushed to me catching me and steading me 

"Asu" godmother was in tears 

my breathing accelerated as did my heart " pack everything will be leaving tonight!" I order getting out of their hold as I rushed to get my things ready as tears began to fall uncontrollably and painfully out of my eyes grabbing clothes as I wept until I was embraced by a crying Kim and Anna I no longer could hold on as the guilt and the pain was consuming me from the inside out chewing me ever so slightly that my knees gave out 

"ASU!" 

I cried out loud clinging to both of them feeling the room with my painful cries "Diego!"
