One day together

Diego P.O.V

Ever since yesterday, we have been staying in Asu's room waiting for her to wake up, I been wondering this past year's how will I react the moment I see her will she like our pack or will she hate it, will see regret? despise? I have been worried for her if she was been fed right or care for, is she loved there too like she is loved here, did she had siblings out there, did they get along and protected her like they should like I would if I was there with her?, how will I react to her hatred or disgust? am I ready for that?

"can you relax you are driving me dizzy" Xavier my wolf huffed 

"Well I am sorry I am just a little nervous that is all" 

"A little? yeah right!" he mocked "it will be fine she'll accept you don't worry"

"How will you know that!" I growled  

"See now for that I won't tell you" he blocked me 

"Diego?" Father asked amused "why are you doing a face like you just ate lime?"

"Xavier," I said annoyed 

he laughed and nodded " Ah I see" 

one thing was for a certain little sister, I will always protect you no matter what so do not worry and come back safely okay?

the moment that she opened her eyes made my heart jump dangerously, I was terrified, but the moment she tilted her head she reminded me of mom that we ran to her I saw father embracing her first, and when she didn't flinch I also join in the hug, she cried in our embrace and managed to hug us leading us to cry more it was a relief and happy that she didn't try to push us away. 

 "Do you know who we are?"

I held my breath. 

 "You" her voice was hoarse " are my father and you are my older brother"

I never knew I was such I cry baby but here I was having me crying over such small phrases, when we finally let go of her we watched her with caution thinking she might disappear or bolt out any minute. 

"Is winter here too?" she said softly her voice had returned but it was different it was more melodic than before as she stared at the window it made me curious to know what was going on in her little head what had caused her to say that in such small voice was it us?

"Was it winter where you came from" curiosity finally came over me and I blurted it out without thinking quickly I shut my mouth 

"Yes, it was" she frowned why did she frown?  " a very harsh winter" 

The moment she said the last part I felt my dad tensed up and I was the same what was the reason that made her look like that and say such things? 

"First off let's start with introductions before anything else," Dad spoke giving me a glanced that I ignored

"I am Mathew your dad" he smiled at her but tears betrayed him that he quickly wiped away.

"I am Diego your older brother"  I gave her a huge smile

"Hello," she spoke courtly that took us by surprise that I turn to see my dad who had the same expression that I did " I am Asu" she smiled warmly she knows! I wanted to keep on crying but instead, we both chucked 

"Do you wish to walk around the packhouse?" I asked but frankly, I was hoping she wouldn't if they saw her they'll start with their bull shit

 "No, I think it's best to stay here for the time being" 

I felt relief but managed to fake it "All alright then" 

"Do you remember everything, my sweet daughter?" dad asked 

"Yes, I am well aware of my situation here in this pack, father" she replied not an inch of disgust coming from her, thank the goddess.

but dad made a hurt expression, " may I ask why are you so polite?

she gave him a weird look, "shouldn't I be polite speaking to my elders, especially if one of them is my father?" 

he looked taken aback and so was I, why was she this polite and speaking in such a way?

"No, Asu what dad meant was why do speak... " I scratched my head trying not to sound stupid

"Oh," she covered my mouth and smiled apologetically did she finally understood? " I am sorry I didn't mean to sound distant It's just that I was educated in such a way" 

We frowned getting mad why did she have to apologize like that just for speaking that way what had they done to her! " By?"

but she remained quiet and that only made us worry more.

I reached out and patted her head with a grin  " how about we tell you all about us?" maybe then she will tell us about her life.

"First," she spoke with a guilty expression 

"before that let me welcome home My daughter," my dad said breaking the ice. 

"T...Thank you Fa-" she was using that word again and made dad looked displeased  " Dad" 

he brightened up and smiled placing his hands on his hips looking proud and huffed I mentally rolled my eyes.

"You can go ahead now little sis" I spoke and lightly poke her side and winked.

she looked at me and burst out laughing something I didn't think I will get to hear this soon her laugh was like she brought life to this place again, we couldn't help but join in as well.

then she looked at us with a straight face  " I must leave this pack tomorrow in the night"

her words hurt me, so she knew.

"you are aware that" dad couldn't continue 

"yes," she intertwined her fingers over and over "although I didn't explain much I just know that I must leave during the night tomorrow,"

I clenched my hands into fists knowing she was right I felt so f*****g useless she hasn't even been back for a day and now she needs to leave for who knows how long wait, " for how long?"

she looked over herself " I few years tops"

"Very well," dad said he was right we couldn't stop her even though it was breaking us from the inside out 

"I will be leaving with Sandra my godmother," she said that so easily was this normal for her to accepting us this easily without any why's? the more I looked at her the more I could tell she wasn't happy with this she was determined but she wasn't completely ecstatic about living was she still in the dark if so how much did she know?

"much do you know Asu? I needed to make sure even if meant angering dad which wasn't hard judging by how he is looking at me 

" About leaving not much I just know I must go to protect you both and myself," she looked far off " and that I have a wolf too" she smiled brightly 

I chuckled so she didn't know about it should I really be relieved with this or not?

"And about the bullying as well" she looked angry 

"Do you wish for us to do something?" I was catching to beat some ass today 

"Celen a said not to make a move I figured she was waiting for you to decide, so Asu what do you wish for us to do I am more than willing to throw them off the pack even better maybe even  have them tied down in the dungeons" father's eyes were shifting with anger 

she shook her heads and my hope for beating someone up went down the drain I was disappointed 

"But why?" dad said with disappointment

"I do not wish to waste precious time with them," she said flatly  

that had me laughing she is much like Celene too "if that is what you wish for then okay but I don't like it" 

"Diego let's go and leave her to rest she looks tired" dad got up and I nodded 

"already?" she pouted a bit but composed herself quickly I hide away my smile 

"Don't worry I will be here first thing in the morning "I quickly spoke 

"And..." dad let off midsentence his eyes were out of focus he was getting mind link and growled " will not be able to be here"

"Is there a problem with the pack?" I moved closer to Asu 

"No" he sighs " it's about the companies"

"companies?" Asu said curiously 

"I'll tell you tomorrow young lady for now sleep" I patter her head 

"Right" she laid back down and before we even exited her room she was already sleeping soundly 

"Wow" I was shocked " she's tired"  

"It was a rough day," Dad said while looking at his daughter who has finally come home but there was a hint of sadness not only in his words but also in his eyes. 

"Good night my sweet daughter," He said his sadness faded, and walked away stretching now he will be at peace, 

I looked back at her " night little sis" 

Asu P.O.V

I woke up to find Diego looking rather worried over me "are you okay?"

he sighed in  relief " you slept for a while, got me worried their little sis"

"Did I?" I looked out the window it was bright outside " How long?" 

"a whole day" he smiled amused " you sure know how to sleep"

I blushed I have never ever overslept that much "I was that tired"

he laughed and gave me a look as if he was telling me ask me whatever you want!

I held back laughter getting along with him is really easy I don't find it weird anymore it just proves that I do belong here "So what do we do here?"

his eyes widen with happiness "Well we one of the largest packs' in the US and especially here in Chicago"

"Chicago?" I asked incredulously 

"Mhm," he said proudly but then noticed my tone "is there something wrong?"

"Ah, no" I smiled reassuring him "may I borrow your cellphone?" 

he looked confused "cellphone?"

My eyes widen " You guys don't have a cellphone?!"

"No, what's a cellphone?" He asked incredulously 

I was shocked they don't have cellphones then that means this is a different timeline, Oh goddess where am I then? I began to panic, then Diego's laugh snaps me back to reality I saw him rolling on the ground laughing his ass off while holding his stomach and his face bright red, he was joking around with me!

"I... sorry" he tried to speak but was out-breath " Your... FACE!" 

I looked around to see what I could throw at him and settled on a pillow "You ASS!"

that only made him laugh more, and then I did what any rational person will do and grabbed all the pillows that I had and threw it at him piling it on top of him with all the force I had which sadly wasn't much.

"I AM SORRY!" he yelled finally been able to speak as he got out of the pillows that were laying on top of him with messy hair and had the puppy face on but the moment our eyes met we both burst out laughing what can I say he made me laugh with his messy hair and puppy face. 

"I am sorry" he apologizes once he was able to speak "it's just that I always wanted to joke around like that and now that I had a time limit I couldn't pass this chance besides you gave me the perfect excuse for a prank"

I laughed " I never had the chance to laugh like this" 

his eyes shifted to me with wonder "Wha-"

"tell me more about this world" I cut him off 

"Ah!" he said and pulled out his phone " first here you can check, um, you know how to right?"

I stuck my tongue out at him " just give me the phone!"

He laughed and mimicked my face and handed it to me and checked the year it was the same year as in the other world 20XX so why did I have to die?

"is everything okay little sis?" he looked tensed "Should I go and get dad?"

"No, it's fine" I lied, I'll ask my godmother about this later today then I looked up at him remembering "I'll be leaving today"

His eyes widen and  looked depressed "yeah" he whimpered 

I smiled " keep telling me more, I want to know as much as possible"

he brightens up and flashed a huge smile " and dad is the CEO of various entertainment companies we specialized in advertising, as soon as I take the alpha position I will also take the CEO position from him as well, so you say we are pretty damn rich" 

It sounds more like an empire rather than various companies, was it a mere coincidence that in the other world I was the heiress to a fashion empire as well?

"Besides been one of the largest packs" he continued " we are greatly respected by other packs, mom," his gaze lower " she was loved by many of the packs from here and other places not only that but one of her greatest friends is Queen of the werewolfs' Rose or as some others called her queen luna, Luna Rose, she loved mom,"

My heart ached even after coming to the world I belong to I didn't have a mother, Diego pulled me into a hug startling me for a second,

"But you don't need to worry you have me and dad, we will always watch out for you even after you find your mate" he spoke softly 

I hugged him back and simply nodded " Thank you" 

"No one in the pack has gone to the human world so we are pretty much hidden from their eyes" he smiled "we wouldn't like for them to know about us and hunt us down," he gritted his teeth "so a great part of us remain hidden we grow our own crops and have all necessities here"

Hearing him speak made me feel closer to him even if it was just hours after meeting each other for the first time, He didn't feel like a stranger no one did. He was my brother and I felt that connection, but something was stopping me from calling him brother maybe because even if it feels like we grew up together due to my memories these memories I have of him protecting me aren't really mine.

"They are yours"  Celene spoke 

"but the question is does he also think that way Celene, " I responded 

 He spoke of everything he likes to do what he enjoys eating, what he doesn't, and when he speaks of the pack I can see a great leader in him he cares, protects, and watches over them as much as dad has he also holds that intelligence and calmness that makes a great leader I wonder why he never took the position of alpha, was it because of me? 

"Let's get some food into you!" he jumped up and ran out of the room before I could even speak I was in disbelief at how fast he was.

I couldn't help but laugh when he came with this huge grin and a bunch of plates "you don't expect me to eat all of this"

"oh" he raised his eyebrow, " I think you will though"

after a few minutes he was right I did, when did I even develop such an appetite! he laughed at my gawking face as I saw the empty plates.

"Told you!" he roared with laughter 

we remain to talk about what he wishes to do and how he will change this pack as soon as he takes possession. He never once mentioned anything about me I knew he wanted to know he was curious and his eyes could not lie about it, but he was respecting my silence and for that I was grateful. 

"I will eliminate any sort of bullying from this pack!" he looked at me with determined eyes 

"it will take time for that are you positive you can do it without giving up?" I asked him "if you are going to give up halfway then don't do it" 

"No, I promise you little sis I won't be giving up and when you come back it will be no more" He grabbed my hands and looked at me with a  serious expression 

"Alright then," I said encouragingly " but if by chance when I come back and is not completely clear" 

He looked at me with fear "yes?"

"don't feel down" I squeezed his hands " and don't worry because I will also help you"

he smiled and laughed " Deal!"

we looked around and saw the sky getting darker dad couldn't come back sooner and I knew he was feeling bad about it. 

"Shall we get ready?" He got up and placed his hands on his hips and looked around 

I raised my eyebrow " you do realize I will be packing clothes right?"

he nodded " yes and?" 

wait for it will sink in any minute now...

his eyes went huge with realization and gasped turning completely scarlet "I'll leave it to you then! meet you out in the woods with dad!" he zoomed out the door

I was laughing that tears began to run down my cheeks and I had to clutch my stomach for support.

"you are horrible" Celene grinned "I love that!"

"hey, he had it coming," I shrugged "is not over yet I'll get him back"

"I can't wait for when that moment comes!" she sighed 

I got up and got a black sports bag and began to place my clothing in it thanks to Celene I knew where exactly everything was placed when I was placing the last of my underwear in the bag when my eyes began to sting like no other that I fell to the floor holding them shut while trying now to scream from the excruciating pain not wanting to alarm Diego or dad so I clutch my mouth shut feeling the sting increase little by little making it unbearable.

"Hold on a bit longer baby girl!" Celene urged "it's almost over please hold on, I am right here "

I whimpered from the pain feeling it decrease little by little Celene's was here all I had to do was trust her and when the pain finally subsided I was left out-breath gasping for air 

"Good job baby girl you did it!" Celene said proudly 

"what the heck was that?" I gasped while keeping my eyes shut.

"look in the mirror!"  Celene urged excitedly 

deciding to crawl to the mirror instead of opening my eyes it took me a while as I felt around and the moment my hands felt vines I knew I was in front of the mirror, opening my eyes very slowly they still sting very badly and the lighting in the room didn't help I blinked more than once to focus my blurry vision and look up my eyes wide at what I saw.

"What" I gasped "is that?"

"That my dear, is our powers" Celene informed me 

What I was seeing in the mirror was enough to knock me off my feet I was glad I was seating down, I was speechless and mesmerized at what I saw my eyes no longer held that chocolate brown now they were a beautiful violet color jewel eyes shining brightly that illuminated the whole room.
