The Rejection

Asu P.O.V 

Blinking once more my eyes return to its chocolate color.

"Is still not the right time when you shift for the first time they will remain," Celene assured me sensing my disappointment  " but we might need to learn how to change the color to a normal one, humans will  find it weird if they see our eyes"

"Oh" I sighed in relief  "yes I can imagine how they will react at the sight of them better to conceal them" 

"This is what the moon goddess wants us to protect, no one should see them, right now they can show up if you lose your temper so be careful not to stumble with unwanted people is quite unstable at the moment" She explained quite tensed actually 

"Will it hurt as it did now when I have them permanently?" I was terrified at her answer I wasn't a coward, I was just been cautious.

"No" She let out a small chuckle but her discomfort was still there " although I can say the same about the other thing" 

her last phrase was very low but I still manage to hear it I was about to ask her when her anxiety was also getting me anxious as she paced around in my mind "CELENE!" can you please calm down you are getting me dizzy" 

she sat back down with a loud thud "I am sorry I been feeling out of it ever since your eyes awaken" 

I shook my head "it probably is because we are anxious about tomorrow and about living"

"yeah, I hope that's it" she lied to herself 

I grabbed the last of my clothing all I had left to do was placed everything into boxes and say goodbye to them I looked around one last time this room was like Celene's sanctuary she had spent a great part of our life in here and maybe because she was part of me I felt very sad to abandoned this space I walked towards the window were she will always seat and looked down at the rest of the pack closing the shades I placed my hands on my hips looking around.

"When we come back let's add more flowers here," I told her  

"And more shine as well" she added 

Closing the door slowly to be able to see the last glimpses of the room, with a sigh I left downstairs walking down in the spiral stairs instead of taking the elevator stepping on the last stairs I noticed no one was here even the kitchen that should be buzzing was empty and quiet. Dad must have told them to leave so that I would be comfortable and look around or maybe because it was already very late, I never imagine this place to be this huge and spacious the kitchen had marble counters with golden color counters, wooden floors, and a huge plasma tv and lots of greenery around the whole living room going up all the way to the walls I could smell dad's lemongrass scent and Diego's fresh-cut grass scent and also the scent of the beta Alex that headed outside, walking towards the direction of the woods the intoxicating scent of strawberry's dip in chocolate hit my nose making my heartbeat sped up I dropped my bag all I could hear was my own heartbeat in the dead of the silence of the night then I saw him and our eyes locked and I saw shocked in his eyes just like mine, Celene  groaned 

"Mate!" we both said 

 I had read many novels about this in my past life that I knew what the word Mate meant and the effects that come with the mate bond it's rare for mates to be rejected but it's not completely impossible and coming from him I already had my guess to what will happen next surprisingly my heart relaxed I am not even bothered by it what I was really thinking about was the excruciating pain that comes with the rejection one pain I must brace myself for, the one who is standing in front of me claiming to be my mate is none other than one of my tormentors George the eldest son of beta Alex. 

"You" his words were filled with pure vile hatred "can't possibly be my mate!"

I growled as a warning to him Celene wasn't very happy being mated to him either she was livid in my mind she didn't feel the joy of the mate bond like any other wolf would. She wanted to claw her way out and rip him to shreds.

"Dear goddess" he spoke her name with bitterness that filled me with a fury that made me almost jumped at him "why pair me with this stupid useless b***h!" he growled louder " why you! you're not only useless but an ugly wench you don't expect me to want to claim you as my mate do you?" 

he wanted me to feel the pain his expression revealed it all. 

"you damn omega, I am going to be Beta of this pack! I don't give two f***s if you are the daughter of the alpha and sister of our future alpha you can go to hell for all I care even kill yourself if you wish to I will not be your mate not in this life not in the next life and not ever!" he was livid " I am not going to have an omega as my mate I deserve better not you!"

his words instead of hurting me were making were filling me with hatred for this scum I could feel it in every inch of my body that began to shake out of fury I knew I had to calm down but it seemed impossible under these circumstances I wanted to launch myself at him and rip his throat out and every bone out of his stupid body and break his spine in half...

"I, George Carrillo, the future beta of the shadow pack, reject you, Asu Fabela, as my mate and future partner" his tone was laced with disgust.

He waited to want to see me in pain, I smiled at his anticipation and sighed full of pleasure" I, Asu Fabela, daughter of Alpha Mathew Fabela of the shadow pack accept your rejection"

He dropped to his knees while clenching his chest panting from the pain of the rejection struggling to even look up at me I turn away from him not wanting to show him my eyes leaving him behind I smirked as I heard his painful groans and his claws digging into the soil before coming into a stop everything went silence I smiled wider with pure bliss even if he wasn't part of those who dare touch me but he was as guilty as them he was a spectator of it all, I had to eat every little insult I wanted to shout out to him this time he was lucky but next time he won't be... 

"Celene, I am sorry but I can't have him as my mate I know you must be hur-

Celene was laughing to the top of her lungs 

"ting..." I was surprised " Celene?" 

" I am sorry, is it just that did you see how he looked?" She was pissed " next time please let me rip him apart"

I chuckled feeling liberated  " Celene the rejection why didn't" 

" We are special being's Asu we will not feel the same things as normal wolf's do, take for example right now his rejection didn't even phase us but yours did the moment you approved he drop to his knees due to the pain I am sure that even he was to cheat we wouldn't even feel it that's how different we are and for that reason we must flee" she hesitated " I am not fully sure why it feels like that is like I am bound with shackles and the moment but as your birthday approaches those shackles have become weak and will come loose" 

"yet I feel like we will be left with more questions than answers" I looked up ahead and saw three figures. 

"you might be right, and it seems like they have long faces due to us living" Celene was also sad 

Beta Alex even if he didn't come to see me when I woke up I knew he loved and care for Celene and waited for me to come back home as well in my memories he also saw me as a daughter he cares deeply for me just like his mate Emma the beta female she will always look out for me when I was sick and due to certain reasons dad and Diego couldn't look out for me he was a good man his very different from his son I hope that his second-born is like him now that the firstborn became such a waste.

"Honey!" dad called out and pulled me into a hug it wasn't awkward anymore I didn't stiffen any longer and I could feel he was happy about it "take care, and remember to eat and sleep well okay, oh and make sure to call at least 20 times a day to make sure you are okay and -" 

" Er father that's a bit too much, we don't even know if she can call let her do what she needs to when she is ready she will call don't pressure her," Diego said and turn  to me dad let me go and Diego hugged me tightly " stay safe okay little sis"

" Asu" Beta Alex spoke cautiously " I am sorry I couldn't go and see you sooner, do you know who I am?"

"Beta Alex" I smiled " thank you for always looking out for us" 

His eyes shine I knew he wanted to cry, 

"Be careful out there young one" he said and tears rolled down his face 

All these men I figured they should be tough given their positions but no they are so fragile as well everything was different.

"okay little sis goes on Sandra is waiting for you deep in the forest" He turned me around and lightly pushed me forward 

" Go and explore and who knows you might even find your mate out there" Beta Alex grinned 

Dad and Diego growled at him and he looked down, I bit my lip 

"Diego" I began but he pulled into a hug again 

" go now an-

"I found my mate" I let out 

Diego froze in a mid hug

"George was my mate I just found out" he tensed up "but the moment he noticed he rejected me and I accepted his rejection he is most likely laying on the floor passed out due to the pain"

"What?" he growled and his hug tightened for fraction of a second hurting me in the process" HE DID WHAT?!" 

"Diego let go of your sister you are hurting her!" dad order in his alpha voice and snapped Diego out of his fury 

I was released and saw Diego for the first time fuming with anger and regret for hurting me. 

"That son of a" he turns to see Alex and stopped his words " I'LL KILL THAT BASTARD"

"what the hell is going on?" dad yelled 

"I told him that-"

"GEORGE THAT DAMN, HE IS HER MATE OR WAS UNTIL A COUPLE OF MINUTES AGO WHEN HE REJECTED HER!" Diego yelled 

Dad began to shake infuriated by the revelation while beta Alex was left in shock at what his son had done.

"HE dares TO!" both dada and Alex roared 

I saw both of them turn and head towards George's way, frankly speaking, I knew he deserved to be beaten to death for all the damage he inflicted but I wasn't going to let them dirty their hands with such waste of a damn human like him my heart raced again I was afraid 

"DAD, BROTHER!" I yelled out desperately " PLEASE DON'T!"

They stopped in their tracks frozen this was the first time I called them dad and brother tears began to roll down my cheeks I was scared I didn't want to lose them even though I know  that impossible but I was scared I couldn't help but think that way or what if the pack turn against them I didn't want that either 

the moment they turn to face me I dropped my bag and ran to them and hugged them startling them both but they hugged me tightly I felt tears rolling down my neck on both sides all my worries about whether my memories were mine or not vanished even though it felt like I had accepted the fact that I was a wolf and belong to this pack and that they were family I was lying to myself some part of me didn't fully grasp that this was the reality it kept me from calling out them but now I was sure this is my home my pack and my only family.

"thank you for waiting for me, for wanting to pick a fight on my behalf thank you for protecting me and watching out for me I am sorry I couldn't say this sooner and that I have to leave" I cried out " thank you, dad and brother"

their hug tighten as I felt I finally belong here " next time I will tell you everything about my past but for now I must go and tried to mend the pain of all of this cause Celene might be strong but even she has a limit" I heard her whimper in agreement I pulled away from the hug and saw them smiling and nodding 

"Beta Alex" I turn to him he didn't even meet my eye his son had done something unforgivable " A mate is supposed to be your other half and your son sadly even by knowing this  choose not to accept me and go against fate I for one am grateful for that I didn't want a mate like him one who inflicts pain and doesn't defend the weak one who thinks he is on top only because he strong a mate like is someone I will rather die than to be with him, do not feel bad for this because was his choice whether he chose right or not only time will tell I am not hurt I do not feel the pull nor the pain of rejection like I should but he, on the other hand, will he is your son and only you can discipline him, but if we ever cross paths once  again In the future I will not be a tolerant as I am today he dare degrade me for my looks and for what he thinks I am, I may be a lowly omega to him but you and I know I am not, make sure to want him about this"  

" Asu, are you sure you are okay?" dad was full of concern 

"yes little sis are you alright " Diego was worry 

" I am okay don't worry I may look like this but I am not weak," I use them with a smile " do not do anything to him, only time will, I have a feeling the moon goddess won't let him off easy, as alpha and future alpha you must follow your duty properly and don't let your anger blind you if he does something unforgivable then punish him as you should" 

they looked at each other and nodded maybe I am overstepping the line here but it's true we don't want the pack to try and revolt I needed to prevent that even though I know very well the pack they'll never do that but there are certain people here I am not entirely sure of. I grabbed my bag and sighed looking in the direction of the woods " and don't take it out on Alex he did nothing wrong" 

"Bye sister" Brother waved 

"Bye my daughter" Dad spoke 

" Asu" Alex was embarrassed but his anger was evident " on behalf of my son-

I shook my head stopping him " it's him who should apologize not you, he degraded me and the moon goddess he will have to pay for his actions like I told my brother and dad only time will tell what happens to him" I waved to all of them with a smile and turn to leave but before I did I stopped but didn't turn "Brother, I believe is time for you to take a stand-in don't you think and let dad rest,"

"Asu" brother said gently 

"I hope that when I come back I can come back to say hello to an alpha brother and see dad well rested"I walked away and waved goodbye.

Sandra P.O.V 

As I waited anxiously for my godchild I listened to her goodbyes making sure she will come to the woods safely and that nothing will interfere with her my blood began to boil for this George who I wanted to beat to a pulp for hurting her and degrading her I was listening to the moment the rejection happen I agreed wholeheartedly with Mathew and Diego wanting to beat him up but when she stopped them hearing what she told them and made me shed tears it must have been hard to fully grasp the position she was in, coming from a different world to another she probably never imagine that existed, but what got to me more was when she turned to Beta Alex and told him all that it was like I was hearing her mother all over again and no doubt that Mathew and Alex also saw their Luna in her, I looked up and sighed she will grow up to be a fine young lady my dear sweet Penelope after all she is your child I smiled 

"Ahem" there was a small cough I looked down and saw Asu looking a bit awkward 

"Well don't just stand right there" I stood up straight and open my arms " come and give your godmother a hug"

She smiled and ran to me pulling me into a tight hug I laughed " your mother will be so glad to see this"

" you knew her?" she looked up at me 

" well of course I did she was one of my dearest friends my dear" I patted her head 

I pulled her gently away to see her clearly "my goddess what a beauty you are" I breathed 

she touched her mark and I frowned feeling a bit displeased just how much has she suffered due to that mark

" I know!" she smiled confidently

I was wordless I couldn't help but laugh at her comment " Yes sweet child yes" 

she laughed with me as well and it wasn't only her voice that was melodic but also her laugh when she fully awakens and shifts this beautiful child will be gorgeous and everyone will fall for her instantly, fear began to take over me as I thought of the future I must get her trained before that happens. 

" come let us go" I motion her forward and she shifted her weight with the huge bag she carried I clicked my fingers and had her bag disappear she looked at me her eyes wide with wonder 

"Ho-how did you? where did you?" she stuttered 

" I am a witch and to where did I send it well you'll see" I winked at her 

We walked in silence I let her explore with her eyes the woods and saw how much she enjoyed it she was different from Mathew she would have already bombarded me with millions of questions like Diego would but she not only looks like but takes after Penelope, I knew better though she did have questions, she was waiting, she will not ask out loud out of respect for me but was waiting for me speak on my own will. 

"Asu" I pointed towards the front 

"Is this where we are staying?" she asked as her eyes glimmer in the moonlight 

"yes"
