📺 Episode 9 – “The Whispering Woods” FADE IN: EXT. WOODS – DUSK Mara, Jalen, Ivy, and Ellen hike carefully through the fog. They’re following a half-faded trail Ellen insists leads to a hidden supply cache. The woods feel alive — branches curl unnaturally, leaves whisper like voices. IVY (low, uneasy)ⁿ Why does it sound like… they’re talking? Ellen avoids her gaze. INT. WOODS – CLEARING – NIGHTFALL They find a half-buried shed covered in vines. Inside: canned food, ammunition, maps. Relief floods the group. As they rummage — a distant bell tolls. Backward. Jalen stiffens. JALEN We’re out of time. Suddenly, WHISPERS drift through the trees. Familiar voices calling each survivor’s name. Mara hears her father again. Ivy hears her mother. Ellen freezes — hearing a young boy. IVY (whispering) They sound… closer. EXT. WOODS – CONTINUOUS Figures appear between the trees. Dozens. Smiling, unblinking. They don’t rush. They watch. The group backs toward the shed. Ellen grips her shotgun, shaking. ELLEN (hoarse) That voice… it’s my son. Mara grabs her arm. MARA No, it isn’t. You told us he was gone. ELLEN (voice breaking) I buried him here. INT. SHED – NIGHT They barricade the door. The whispers circle the shed, growing louder. Ivy covers her ears. Suddenly — a BANG on the roof. Then another. Something crawling above. Jalen aims his pistol upward, steady but sweating. JALEN They’re not supposed to come inside. The roof CREAKS. A smiling face pushes down through the rotten boards — too wide, too pale. Gunfire erupts. EXT. WOODS – DAWN The group stumbles out, bloody and shaken. The shed smolders behind them. Ellen limps, hollow-eyed, muttering her son’s name. Mara looks back at the woods. The trees shift… as if watching. MARA (V.O.) The rules kept us alive… but in these woods, the rules don’t matter. The bell tolls again — echoing through the fog. FADE OUT. END OF EPISODE 9 ⚡ Episode 9 escalates danger: the creatures bend their own “rules,” Ellen’s past resurfaces, and the survivors learn the woods themselves may be alive.
