Lyria's scream echoed through the temple. Guardian Elara collapsed onto the crystal floor as blood spread beneath her. The traitor pulled his dagger free and smiled. Everything happened so fast. The other guardians rushed toward him, but he was quicker. He threw a handful of black powder into the air. A thick cloud of smoke filled the chamber. By the time the smoke cleared, he had disappeared. Elara struggled to breathe. Lyria dropped to her knees beside her. Please do not die. Elara smiled weakly. Do not waste your tears on me. There has to be a way to save you. No. My time ended the moment the Heart of the Moon chose you. Another explosion shook the temple. The walls trembled as the sounds of battle drew closer. The enemy had entered the sacred halls. A young guardian rushed into the chamber with blood running down his forehead. Guardian Elara. They have broken through the western passage. We cannot hold them back much longer. Elara slowly looked at Lyria. There is only one thing left to do. She reached beneath her robe and removed a small silver key hanging around her neck. She placed it in Lyria's hand. Protect this with your life. What does it open? The Chamber of Origins. No one has entered it for hundreds of years. Inside, you will find the truth about your bloodline. Lyria tightened her grip on the key. I cannot leave you. You must. If the enemy captures you, the prophecy dies with you. The young guardian knelt beside Elara. I will stay and protect her. Elara nodded. Take the future Luna to the chamber. Do not stop anyone. The guardian helped Lyria to her feet. This way. They hurried through a narrow passage hidden behind the crystal altar. The sounds of battle echoed behind them. Steel clashed against steel. Wolves howled in pain. The temple had become a battlefield. As they ran, Lyria looked back one last time. Elara was still watching her. A peaceful smile rested on the old woman's face. Go. Lyria nodded and disappeared into the passage. Moments later, Alpha Darius entered the chamber with dozens of warriors behind him. His crimson eyes swept across the room. Where is she? Elara remained silent. Darius walked toward her. You have always been stubborn. He grabbed her by the throat. Tell me where the girl is. Elara smiled. You are already too late. Darius's face darkened. He tightened his grip. She will never belong to you. With one swift movement, Darius snapped her neck. Her body fell lifeless onto the floor. The remaining guardians roared in anger and charged at him. The chamber exploded into chaos. Meanwhile, Lyria and the young guardian finally reached a massive stone door covered in ancient carvings. Three crescent moons surrounded a royal crown. The guardian pointed at the silver key. This is the place. Lyria inserted the key into the lock. The ground trembled. The enormous door slowly opened. Cold air rushed out. Inside stood hundreds of ancient statues. At the center of the chamber rested a magnificent silver throne. Above it hung an enormous portrait. Lyria's footsteps slowed. Her heart stopped. The man sitting on the throne looked exactly like the Alpha King. Beside him sat the woman from her vision. Her mother. At their feet stood two small children. A little boy. And a little girl. The little girl had Lyria's face. She stared at the portrait in disbelief. This cannot be... The guardian looked at the painting and lowered his head. It is true. You are not an ordinary wolf. You are the lost princess of the Moon Kingdom. Before Lyria could process his words, slow applause echoed through the chamber. She spun around. Princess Selene stepped out from the shadows. She smiled as she held a silver dagger against the throat of the young guardian. Did you really think I would let you discover the truth alone Lyria's face turned pale. Selene... How did you find us Selene laughed softly. Because the traitor who opened the western gate... Was working for me from the very beginning. She pressed the dagger deeper against the guardian's throat. Blood trickled onto his armor. Now, Princess... Choose. Save him... Or learn the rest of your family's secret.
