The chamber fell into a heavy silence. Every pair of eyes was fixed on the black sword in Alpha Darius's hand. The weapon pulsed with a crimson glow, as though it were alive. The Alpha King's wolf growled low in his chest. Darius smiled. You recognize it. The Alpha King did not answer. Instead, he slowly pushed Lyria behind him. Stay behind me. Lyria shook her head. No. I'm not leaving you. His voice softened. Please. She had never heard him sound so vulnerable. The young guardian stepped closer. My King, the Blade of Fallen Kings, cannot be blocked by ordinary weapons. The Alpha King nodded. I know. Darius laughed. That fear in your eyes... I have waited years to see it again. He pointed the sword toward Lyria. When you die, she will belong to me. The Alpha King's silver eyes blazed. Never. Without another word, Darius charged. His speed was unbelievable. The black sword sliced through the air. The Alpha King shifted into his wolf and met the attack head-on. The clash shook the entire chamber. Stone pillars cracked. Dust rained from the ceiling. The two Alphas exchanged blows so quickly that Lyria could barely follow them. Darius swung the cursed blade again. The Alpha King dodged, but the edge grazed his shoulder. A deep cut appeared instantly. Unlike his previous wounds... It did not heal. Blood flowed freely onto the stone floor. Lyria's heart stopped. The sword was stopping his healing. Darius smiled. Now you understand. Every wound this blade gives you brings you closer to death. The Alpha King ignored the pain and lunged forward. His claws slashed across Darius's chest. Darius staggered backward, but his smile never faded. Very good. Fight harder. I want the future Queen to watch you die. Lyria clenched her fists. She couldn't stand there any longer. Her eyes fell on the ancient silver throne. The Heart of the Moon had chosen her. There had to be something she could do. She ran toward the throne. The young guardian reached for her. Princess, wait. But she was already standing before it. The crescent mark on her wrist began glowing again. A warm voice echoed inside her mind. Only the chosen Luna can awaken the Crown of Light. Lyria looked around. Who are you? Trust your heart. Not your fear. The silver throne suddenly burst into light. A hidden compartment opened beneath the seat. Inside rested a magnificent silver crown covered with moonstones. The moment Lyria touched it, a wave of memories rushed into her mind. She saw generations of Queens protecting their people. She saw kingdoms rise and fall. She saw her mother wearing the same crown while holding a baby in her arms. Then she saw something that made her blood run cold. Alpha Darius... Kneeling before another man. His face was hidden beneath a black hood. The hooded man handed him the Blade of Fallen Kings. A deep voice echoed through the vision. Bring me the royal heirs. Kill anyone who stands in your way. The vision ended. Lyria gasped. Darius wasn't the true leader. Someone else was controlling everything. Meanwhile, the battle grew more violent. The Alpha King was breathing heavily. Several deep wounds covered his body. Blood stained the white marble floor. Darius raised the black sword high above his head. This ends now. He swung the blade with all his strength. Lyria screamed. No. Without thinking, she placed the silver crown upon her head. The chamber exploded with brilliant moonlight. A powerful shield formed around the Alpha King just as the black sword struck. The impact sent Darius flying across the room. He crashed into a stone pillar, shattering it. Everyone stared in shock. The crown continued glowing. Lyria's silver eyes shone like the full moon. Even the Alpha King looked at her in amazement. The young guardian slowly dropped to one knee. Then every surviving guardian followed. Their voices echoed together through the chamber. Long live the true Queen. Darius slowly climbed to his feet. For the first time... There was fear in his eyes. He looked at Lyria as though he were seeing someone else. His lips trembled. Impossible. The Crown of Light only accepts one bloodline. Lyria stepped forward. Her voice was calm, yet filled with authority. Then you already know you have lost. Darius tightened his grip on the black sword. His fear vanished, replaced by cold determination. No. The real war... Has only just begun. As his words faded, the chamber ceiling split open with a deafening roar. A gigantic shadow descended from the night sky. It wasn't a wolf. It wasn't human. Two glowing crimson eyes stared down at everyone. The creature let out a terrifying scream that shook the entire mountain. The young guardian's face turned white. He whispered in horror. The Shadow Dragon has awakened.
