The chamber trembled beneath the Alpha King's fury. His silver eyes never left Selene. She slowly lowered the dagger and smiled. You finally found her. The Alpha King stepped into the chamber. Blood dripped from the wounds on his arms, but he ignored them. Every warrior who had followed Selene instinctively backed away. Lyria stared at him. He had fought through an entire army to reach her. Selene laughed softly. You look terrible. The Alpha King stopped only a few steps from Lyria. Are you hurt? She shook her head. No. Relief flashed across his face before disappearing. Good. Selene rolled her eyes. How touching. She suddenly grabbed the young guardian by the collar and pulled him to his feet. One more step, and he dies. The Alpha King remained calm. If you wanted him dead, you would have killed him already. Selene's smile faded. You know me too well. No. I finally see you for who you are. The chamber fell silent. The Alpha King's voice was steady. You poisoned me during the Blood Moon. You stole the prophecy. You murdered the old prisoner. You killed the royal physician. You betrayed the kingdom. Selene's eyes darkened. I did all of that. And I would do it again. Lyria looked at her in disbelief. Why Because this kingdom never belonged to you. Selene's voice echoed through the chamber. I spent my entire life preparing to become Queen. I learned diplomacy. I trained with the finest warriors. I sacrificed everything. Then one night, a village girl appeared... And the Moon Goddess handed her everything that should have been mine. Her breathing became uneven. Do you know what that feels like? Lyria answered quietly. No. Because I never asked for any of this. Selene laughed bitterly. That is exactly why I hate you. Without warning, she shoved the young guardian aside and lunged toward Lyria. The dagger flashed through the air. The Alpha King moved instantly. He stepped between them. The blade plunged deep into his chest. Everything stopped. Lyria's eyes widened in horror. Blood soaked through his shirt. The Alpha King looked down at the dagger before slowly lifting his eyes to Selene. She had not expected him to protect Lyria with his own body. My King... Her voice trembled. He pulled the dagger from his chest. His wound began healing almost immediately, but not before blood spilled across the stone floor. You had one last chance. His voice was colder than ice. You chose wrong. A powerful roar burst from his chest. His body shifted into his enormous black wolf. The force of his transformation sent everyone stumbling backward. Selene's warriors fled toward the entrance. The Alpha King charged. Within seconds, the chamber became a battlefield. The young guardian quickly pulled Lyria behind one of the ancient pillars. Stay here. What about him? He will not lose. The Alpha King tore through the enemy like a storm. One warrior after another fell beneath his claws. Selene watched in horror. He had become unstoppable. She slowly backed away. This was never supposed to happen. As she reached the doorway, a cold voice echoed behind her. Running already Alpha Darius stepped into the chamber. His crimson eyes swept across the battlefield. His expression hardened when he saw the Alpha King. You disappoint me, Selene. She frowned. I brought you here. You failed to deliver the girl. His voice carried no emotion. Failure has consequences. Before Selene could react, Darius drove a silver blade through her shoulder. She screamed and fell to her knees. Lyria stared in shock. He attacked his own ally. Selene looked up at him with disbelief. You betrayed me. Darius smiled. No. I simply used you. You were never meant to sit on any throne. You were the only key that opened the temple for me. Selene's face turned pale. Years of loyalty had meant nothing. Darius kicked her aside and walked toward Lyria. The Alpha King immediately placed himself between them. Darius smiled. Now there are no more secrets. No more lies. Only one thing remains. He slowly drew a black sword engraved with ancient symbols. I will kill the King... Then I will take his heirs. The sword suddenly began to glow. The moment the Alpha King saw it, every trace of confidence disappeared from his face. Lyria noticed immediately. What is that weapon The young guardian whispered, his voice filled with fear. The Blade of Fallen Kings. It is the only weapon ever forged that can permanently kill the last Alpha of the Moon Kingdom. The Alpha King tightened his fists. For the first time since Lyria had met him... He looked afraid.
