Wake up, Riho.
The whisper in her head made Riho's eyes open. Even the longing for sleep, Riho woke up to that single whisper in her head. What could be the reason for it? Why is it there? What's behind it? Who caused it? All sorts of questions may exist about it, but its existence stays hidden and a mystery.
Riho got up from her bed, still drowsy. She sighed as she saw herself in the mirror. Her characteristics make her wonder why. She stared at the mirror. Fair-skinned, long lashes, small but pointed nose, masculine head structure, thin brows, plump lips, that light brown freckles that are only visible when you are up-close, that lazy-type of eyes that makes you think that she's always sleepy, the dark spots under her eyes, that scar on her forehead. She hated herself. The quote "hate yourself but someone still loves you" sounds bullshit and toxic for her. The thought of someone loving her is just pure.. f****d up, she thought.
A loud bang can be heard outside her room.
"Lazy b***h! I'll shred your body if you don't come out from your room, f*****g b***h!"
Riho walked towards her door to open it, twisted the doorknob. There shows her dad, completely drunk and f****d up. Her dad grabbed her hair and pull it closer to him, "I told you to f*****g wake up before 6 AM, it's bloody 6:04 you lazy f*****g b***h!" he shouted at her, gritting his teeth from annoyance.
Riho stayed cold and expressionless that made her dad trembling in annoyance even more. He grabbed her hair with all his force and pushed her below. He kicked her stomach, continuously, countless times that even made her teared up from the pain. He went towards her and kicked her jaw, resulting it to bruise quickly. Even so, Riho stayed still and watched as her father abuse her every single day. Riho got used to it as if she was numb.
As her dad saw her face, still cold as if she isn't feeling any pain, he got annoyed even more, causing him to punch her forehead. The scar on Riho's forehead began hurting and aching. Her father watched as she suddenly got up, covering her forehead, and ran towards the bathroom. As she got inside, she quickly locked the bathroom door while her father is trying to catch up to her and knocking and shouting outside the door violently.
She tried to ignore the ruckus outside. She diverted her attention to the scar on her forehead as it was still aching and hurting. She gently caressed it to make the pain fade away. She sighed in relief as the pain faded away and the aching is gone. She went to reach the drawers and grab the band-aid. She quickly pasted the band-aid on her scar properly to not let a single part of the scar invisible. She sighed again, trying to assure herself. She noticed that the noise outside is replaced by clear silence. She felt assured.
She took off all of her worn clothes and went inside to take a shower. As the water flows on her body, she couldn't help but think about things.
What if everything could be thrown away? Wouldn't living be finally easier?
What if everything could be forgotten? What if my wish would be granted?
She wants to cry, she wants to break down, she wants to shout, she wants to feel emotions. But as if her heart was caged, she couldn't feel anything at all. She's on edge. Her desperate longing for emotions has been stopping her from doing things lately. Something is wrong with her.
She turned the shower off and grabbed her towel to cover her naked body. She went outside the bathroom door to peek but there are no signs of her dad or stupid people anywhere. She quickly went outside the bathroom and went inside her room to dress up. It's Monday, weekends are over and the thought of her away from her house is reassuring. She grabbed something to wear and quickly wore it. She didn't even bother to dry or style her hair. She grabbed the perfume her mother gave her and applied it all over her body.
She went outside along with her backpack she just grabbed it and quickly went outside her house. Since the school is not that far away from her house, she decided to walk to get there. She observed her surroundings while her hands are inside her jean's pockets. With the wind making her hair fly, she felt okay.
As moments passed by, a black Porsche car stopped by someone else's house. A tall boy with a shy aura came out and took a deep breath. Riho stared at him and decided to mind her own business. As she gets closer to the school, the boy she saw earlier is walking at the same pace as her on the other side of the street. The boy looks delicate and soft, with his brows frowning with his head down. Riho thinks he looked stupid.
She went inside the school and went directly to the cafeteria. She ordered her usual breakfast to eat and find something to sit. People pass by with a distance from her, probably because they are intimidated. Riho is considered the "cool girl" in her school with her calm, cold and intimidating aura. But the truth is, she has the inability to feel things. Cool, right?
As she is quietly enjoying her food, the cafeteria was suddenly filled with whispers and girls chuckling at each other. She stared at the cafeteria's door, anticipating who they are talking about. She saw the boy with the delicate face! Now that she sees him up close, he's actually kind of good-looking. Shoulder-length wavy hair, glasses, shy gaze, and a tall muscular figure. What a nerd.
She has never seen him around so I guess he's a transferee.
What Riho doesn't know is that this man is going to affect her so badly.
