Elena’s power hit me first—cold, brutal, sharp enough to steal the breath out of my lungs.
The conference room went to hell in a heartbeat. Windows blew out, glass spraying like rain, the ceiling lights popping in a chain reaction. I hit the floor hard and rolled, dragging myself behind a flipped table as another wave of shadow scorched the spot I’d just vacated.
“You think you’re clever,” Elena’s voice cracked, sharp and vicious. Her perfect mask finally broke, fury bleeding through. “But all you’ve done is make sure those children die screaming.”
I thumbed my comm with shaking fingers. “Marcus, status?”
