"What do you mean he didn't return, have you tried contacting his family?" an elderly man said his face visibly angry.
" I told you to choose someone competent, you are absolutely useless, no work can be left to you and have a satisfiable results. Get out" He ordered his voice echoing through the seemingly empty room. Lucas walked out with shame on his face. He knew he had failed yet again and his grandfather's faith in him was decreasing. He was so confident this would work out. He had sent his most trusted right hand man for this job. What could have went wrong? He knew there was a possibility his informant was dead, what he didn't understand was how that was possible and how much they knew about his family now. He had to do something to redeem his image to his grandfather or else he'd lose everything to a stranger. He was going to do anything in his power to find out what happened. This was his last chance.
☠️
" I can't believe he actually did that. What came over him for heaven's sake. You have every right to be mad.. You can stay at mine if you want, I'm so lonely anyway."
" Thanks Dora but I think I'd rather get my own place. I need to do a lot of thinking and planning about how to make sure Dad doesn't use Jeffery's name as his next of heir." Aanya refuted.
" All the more reason why you should move in with me. I can help brainstorm what to do and you also get to save a lot. It's a win win situation, please don't say no." Dora smiled despite her friend's silence. She knew Aanya was going to give in to her.
" You always know how to get your way don't you?" Aanya said with a smile one her face.
" Yep. That's why you love me isn't it?" Dora said shamelessly.
" So when are you moving in?" she probed.
" Probably Saturday, that would give me enough time to pack what I'll need most. I'd call the moving agency and have them come for my things next week. They should all be at your place by the weekend. Right now I have to go. I have a match. My people are waiting for their daily dose of streaming." Aanya said turning her attention to the laptop.
" Oh you know how much I love to watch you play, you're so good you make me jealous. One day I'd learn to play like you so I can finally play alongside you" Dora said with childish confidence.
" I thought you always said you hated online games. What inspired this sudden change of mind." Aanya asked with a smirk
"Nothing" Dora said trying to hide the blush on her face which only made Aanya burst out laughing.
It was obvious what really happened but since Dora wasn't willing to share she wasn't going to probe.
☠️
Two weeks later.
"Happy one week" Aanya woke up to Dora standing by her bedside with a cake.
"What's the occasion?" She asked as she tried to free herself from the hands of sleep
"How could you?" Dora gasped.
" Today's exactly one week you moved in with me. It's our one week anniversary of living together and you're asking me what the occasion is? I'm so hurt" She dramatically wiped the non existent tears from her eyes as she pulled the Duvet off her friend.
" Today needs to be celebrated. I've booked us a restaurant, get up and get dressed we're eating out today"
Aanya looked at Dora and rolled her eyes, was all this really necessary? She didn't refuse the offer though because she knew Nothing was going to change Dora's mind once she set to do something.
☠️
Four hours later.
"A table for Miss Morvian"
"Right this way" A waitress said as she led them to a table at the far side of the restaurant that was overlooking the city. The city at night looked breathtaking as the lights looked like twinkling stars.
Aanya looked at her friend and couldn't help but smile. She was so petty to have forced her here to to celebrate one week of staying together.

"Mr. Volvo? you just have to sign here"
"This contract would be signed later" he said and walked out with no explanation. The man who happened to be in his early forties watched with confusion as Aston Volvo walked out on him. What just happened? He would have to call on them later to reschedule the meeting then, he thought as he gathered the documents and left the restaurant.
Two minutes later Aston Volvo returned form the washroom and sat in the seat the man had just vacated.
Now he could see her clearly, he thought as he watched the two ladies sitting by the window. She has caught his attention immediately she entered the room and he felt entranced as she let out a hearty laughter at something her friend seemed to have said.
He couldn't help but notice the dimples she had or the way her eyes almost disappeared when she tilted her head and laughed. Who was she? He had been to this restaurant several times but has never seen her here. Taking out his phone, he took a picture of her and sent it to his sectary, he had to know who she was soon.
Aanya excused herself to go to the washroom after a few drinks.
Immediately he saw her going to the washroom he wanted to follow but restrained himself, he was in no hurry to make himself known yet. He spent an extra hour in the restaurant studying her but also making sure she never felt him stare for way too long.
After what seemed like forever, the paid and made their way outside to the parking lot. He followed at a safe distance and watched as they got into their car and drove off.
Watching her go made him uncomfortable so he got into his BMW comp 8 and followed them.
After twenty-five minutes drive, he parked in an undetectable spot as he watched them laugh all the way into the house. After making sure she was inside, he drove off.
☠️
"Sir, Mr. Michaels called to reschedule the signing of the contract, when do you think would be the right time." His sectary asked as he waited for his answer
"Sir? Sir?" It took the light tap on his table to pull him back to earth. She's been taunting him, her cheeks that were flushed and rosy from being tipsy, the little dance she made as she jumped across invincible holes on her way to the house and the way she laughed. Why couldn't he get it off his mind.
"Schedule it for next Monday" he said as he picked his suit and walked towards the door, he had to see her. Why he even wanted to do that he hadn't thought of it yet.
"But sir, you have a packed schedule for the day, where to?" his sectary asked in confusion as he made an attempt to stop him.
"Reschedule them" were his last words before he left the office.
---
This time he parked closer to the house than he did the last time. He could see her through the windows, she was busy with the laptop and he wondered what exactly she was doing. Her hair was tied in a messy bun as her neck was lightly tilted. From the headset she had on he was guessing she was playing some sort of game on the laptop.
After some minutes, she got up and stretched. She seemed exhausted from sitting for that long.
He watched her for what felt like forever until he got a call. Looking at the number he knew he ad to return to the office immediately.
See you soon, he thought as he pulled away and drove off.
