She watched the car zoom off and disappear at the end of the road. She suddenly realized something; she was outside the gates. She could decide to run away, and never come back. She had her phone with her, she could stop a cab, drive to her sister’s school and pick her up, and they could both be on their way out of this goddamn city. But on second thoughts, this was the Mafia she was dealing with. They were unpredictable and would not think twice about taking a life ,worst if you don’t uphold your part of a bargain.
She thought long and hard about it, and eventually decided to let go of the idea. She had only this week to be here and that would be it. She looked around and without any idea where exactly she was going to, she started walking down the street.
