It had been a week since her last encounter with Marcelo. Every time the door to her room opened, she held her breath, hoping it was him. For the past week, she had not seen him. Silly her she thought, of course he was a busy manand had a ton of things to attend to. Added to the fact that he was just like every other regular client, except he really was not like every other customer. He looked at her different, he acted like he seemed interested. But then again, she knew she was being delusional. A man like that could care less for someone like her. It was all just business and fun. Why was she even bothered? He was probably not thinking about her as she was thinking of him, perhaps she had grown attached because of their little banter and mind games. Perhaps that was it. And she blamed herself for it. She should not have played along in the first place. She should have ignored him and acted nonchalant as she had always done with others. Well, the deed was done, and she had to move on and forget about him, and if he ever comes back, she would have to pay him no further attention than he deserved.
Marcelo had been tied down with work and had been busy all week. From his factories to his undercover drug business. He had had second thoughts about this particular venture. Left to him, he did not wish to continue it, but he was trying to keep his father's legacy alive. It belonged to his father, and now it belonged to him. coupled with his family history and feud with his brother, he was not ready just yet to give it up.
The w***e from the Beau had occasionally made her way in to his mind the entire time. He wanted so badly to go back there again, but that would be risky for him and his business. He found that anytime he came back from seeing her, he would spend the rest of that day reminiscing about their passionate encounters.
He of course still remembered their last encounter and how he had left. Why did the truth about sharing her with other men infuriate him, why was he interested anyways, its not like they owed each other anything, But, just but, he was interested in knowing who she really was outside The Beau. He was sure she was the blonde, but why was she denying it. Not that it mattered to him though. He was enjoying their little mind games and he intended to have at it while he still had the luxury and time for it. It was really about to get mare interesting.
He dialed a number on his phone
'aha Mr Rupert, sorry for calling this late. I was wondering, I'd like to visit the school tomorrow for an inspection of the students. I was in a bit of a rush the other day, and was not able to actually spend time with the students. I would like to come around tomorrow and take a proper look around. See if there are any necessary changes to be made.
Mr Rupert was of course shocked, marcelo had never really been personally involved in the affairs of the school. And he only visited on rare occasions, s0 this was a bit of a shocker to him.
yes, yes of course sir' he knew better than to give excuses. That would mean he was not doing his work well as the school principal.
'good'
That was settled.
He arrived at the school the next morning when lectures had already begun, and every student was obviously in their classrooms. The principal and some other school executives had waited out-front for his arrival. He had come with Max and the school manager who he had employed to look after the affairs of the school in his absence.
They all shook hands and exchanged pleasantries before proceeding with the tour. They went from class room to class room. Marcelo was on a mission that only he knew about. To avoid interrupting the ongoing lectures, he surveyed each class room and its students from the corridor, by looking through the glass windows. He was searching for someone. And he was going to find her.
He had said he was not interested in the high schoolers. The middle schoolers mattered more to him.
The middle schoolers mattered more to him. At the last middle school grade, which is grade eight, he finally found what he had infact been looking for. Blonde like her sister, and eyes piercingly blue as well. He had seen them sitting together at the ceremony and had seen them holding hands.
'What grade is this'
this is the eight grade sir. The last grade for middle schoolers. They would be graduating to high school very soon'
is that so' he asked feigning curiosity.
He stayed a minute longer watching the blonde girl with blue eyes.
When he was done with the inspection and had shared his observations with the principal
would like to award scholarships to those in the eight grade'
Everyone looked at him startled
yes, I would like for an exam to be conducted for them, and the best students would be receiving sponsorships to finish their high school education here'
that is very wonderful sir'
Even max was taken aback. What had come over marcele. There was something off about him lately that he could not pinpoint just yet. He did not however linger on it because he thought that maybe he was just moved after seeing children and had decided to do something. That was the only logical explanation possible.
will leave it to you to organize it. But, I would also like for their parents and guardians to be informed about it. So you will schedule a meeting with them and discuss the terms and process of the examination. There should also be a proper application. Each student and their guardian should give their names and pictures if possible'.
It was a long shot, but he was going to take it. What if, instead of her, their parents actually showed up. well, at least he would have a name, which was better than nothing. He was looking forward to the meeting.
Another week passed, and he still did not visit the Beau. He was purposely putting off the urge to go there. He wanted to, but he thought he needed little more time to see if he could overcome his madness. He had thought that maybe with time, he would stop thinking about her. He was wrong, he did want to see her again and hear her moan in that manner that drove him wild. He swamped himself with work and spent some of his evenings partying with his friends.
Not that partying was his thing. He just needed a distraction. He found it weird that none of the women he met at the parties interested him. He got into conversations with some of them, but that was as far as it could go, just conversations. They did look at him like they wanted him, but they did not look at him the way she did. That smirk she always had on her face when she was teasing him.it was a rather infuriating but amusing smirk. She was not afraid of him, and he worried that she might think of him as yet one of her clients. No, he did not want that. He wanted her to see him differently. It was just too bad that they had met under the circumstances that they had met in. he looked around him, money, booze, drugs, pretty women, gangsters and mobsters all dressed in their best. He was no different than them. This was really his life.
When he got home, he had called the school principal to enquire about the scholarship process. The principal had told him that everything was ready and the meeting would hold the next day. The principal had indeed prepared everything and had been waiting for a call from marcelo to proceed.
'Will you be coming tomorrow, sir?' the principal asked
Marcelo half drunk, thought about it for a second.
'No,' he finally said.
Isabella had told her about the scholarship program and the meeting. She had, in fact, received an email from the school concerning the meeting. She was indeed happy about it because at least her sister's tuition would be covered for her high school education. She thought about Marcelo. She had been able to find out a few things about him after she found out that he was the school founder's son. She had heard stories about his wealth and affluence. His reputation as a leader of one of the most dangerous gangs in the city. She did not know if she really wanted to be linked to or associated with someone like that. And there she goes again, deluding herself. He obviously had a handful of ladies at his service, so she was literally not of significance to him. when she had first seen him, she had sensed something dangerous about him, but with time she had stopped being afraid of him,so much so that she even teased him and found his annoyance yet amusing. Now that she had not seen him for some time now, she thought that it was perhaps for the best. She had initially been disappointed but after she had heard some stories about him, some which sounded like rumors and the ring he operated, she had decided to forget about him. if he ever showed up again, she was going to keep it professional and not give him the attention that she had always give him.
She arrived the school just in time for the scheduled meeting. The email had said something about a meeting with the principal. She settled down while she waited for others to arrive and for the meeting to begin. She said hi to a few of the parents she was friendly with.
The principal had begun the meeting after everyone had arrived and settled down. He handed out the application forms. They had earlier been asked to come with passport photographs of their wards and children. While everyone was busy filling out the forms and attaching the photographs, the door of the meeting hall swung open and Marcelo walked in, clean, shaven and sexy as hell. Everyone was staring including Elena. She had prayed and wished for this not to happen yet here was the devil she had been avoiding. She felt her mouth go dry, and a cold shiver run up and down her spine. He had come with Max, she recognized him too. She had had encounters with him too at the Beau. And he had come to fetch her for Marcelo during the last meeting. Her cheeks went tomato red with shame, embarrassment and regret. These two men that she had met in her other world, were here in this world with her. she was not too worried about max because they had not gotten on personal levels, it was just business between them, and she did not think he would be able to recognize her. during all their meetings, he had not actually looked at her closely. But Marcelo scared her, he had taken a very close look at her face. And what if he had told max about her too.
The principal hurriedly went to meet him
'You said you were not coming today, sir'
'i changed my mind' he smiled
He looked around the room,searchingly.
Elena looked away before his gaze reached where she was. After a minute, she looked up and froze. His eyes were on her face. he was looking directly at her. she looked away and after a minute slowly looked at him again, he still stared at her. His eyes were still on her even as he conversed with the principal, She was totally losing her mind. He suddenly smiled at her.
