Derek's POV
I continue to stare at her as if she had grown two heads,
“You must not believe me then,” Diana said,
“With the load of rubbish you just sputtered, no I do not,” I retorted and made my way towards the door,
“Why Derek, do you choose not to believe my words or you do not truly believe?” she said, then suddenly I start to feel an imminent headache, I grabbed my head and screamed in pain,
“What did you do to me?” I asked,
“I haven't done anything to you, I only returned the memories I took from you,” she said, immediately I fell to my knees as I continued to groan in pain,
“As of this moment, you will continue to walk down the memory lane, we do not have much time left, Zalzard and his troops will soon be here,” I continue to feel dizzy until I suddenly hear someone my name, immediately I peel my eyes open, sucking in a heap of breath,
“What was that?" I asked,
“Your memories are back,
“I'm not who you think I am, I'm not this chosen one you speak of,” I stuttered out as i began to make attempts to head for the door,
“Believe me, you are, come,” she said gently, and led me to a room I didn't notice was there, inside the room was a table, she moved closer to the table and beckoned me to move closer, she then place her hand on the table and a book appeared; it was covered in a piece of old leather and dust, she lifted the book and blew out the dust, I noticed there was a special carving in front of the book with a strange language written in front of it,
“It’s the book of the prophecy,” Diana said, she then opened it to the middle page and pointed to the strange writing,
“It says here that the chosen one will bear the mark of the sword,”
“ I have no mark," I said and she chuckled softly,
“Come," she said again and led me to a huge mirror, she then covered my face with her palm, only removing it after a few seconds,
“Open your eyes and tell me what you see,” she commanded, I slowly my eyes and stared at the strange yet familiar mark on my forehead,
“I see it, the mark,” I said and sighed,
“Do you believe now that you are the seven kingdoms last hope,” Diana said,
"You said the sea goddess was the one who granted the sword, we could just ask her to help,”
"We wish we could Derek, but the sea goddess is in exile; she used all her powers to protect the heart after we failed to, making her fall into a deep sleep and we have no knowledge of how to wake her up, we eventually gave up after trying for so long,”
"what c***k are you talking about?"
"Actually..." she said while walking to the window,
"We guardians are also connected to the heart, we use our magic like a rope tied around the emperor's waist to support him in controlling the heart: with Zalzard destroying us all, the thread has been disappearing and without the thread, the emperor can not do it alone and even if he does, it will lead to his death because the heart is too powerful, that was the reason why the sea goddess had to sacrifice herself to make another thread around him using all of her powers, and to prevent her from waking up, Zalzard has been drying up the great seas in all the kingdoms,”
“That explains the drought,” I said.
Suddenly I began to feel the ground shake beneath my feet, I held the wall to steady myself and stared at Diana to see if she felt it too, we both looked in the direction of the door as we both heard the sound of antiques breaking behind it,
“They are here,” Diana said with panic evident in her voice, immediately she touch the book and it disappeared into thin air, I entered into the first room and the thunderous sounds of horses marching in were heard, horns were sounded, alerting us that the invaders are back, and soon enough, panicked cries could be heard in the distance,
“We must hurry,” Diana said and suddenly I felt a strange change in my body,
“What did you do!” I looked at her with a questioning look,
“It’s best you are in disguise,” she said and suddenly we heard a loud bang on the door, she brought out an object that looked like an orb and handed it to me,
“Keep this, we need it to get the map in Caravelle,” she rushed out, another loud bang was heard, causing the door to break into two,
"Well! well! well! if it isn't the last guardian in the seven kingdoms, hello princess Diana,” a strange looking man said with a small bow,
“Dorian, what a coincidence to run to you here,” Diana said sarcastically,
“Hmm, I see you have company and who might you be young las?” before I could speak, Diana quickly butt in.
“He's just a nobody, you do not need concern yourself with him,”
"Ah! a nobody you say, but why don't I believe you,” he said sniffing the air,
“But he smells human,”
“He's deaf and dumb, just a useless human what can he do?" she said pushing me behind her,
“What's your business here Dorian?” Diana asked as he continues to stare at me intensively before I quickly averted my eyes,
“Well! I am here to escort you my lady; my master wants to meet with you,” he smirked,
“Oh! I am just a little elf with no family, why would the great master Zalzard want to have anything to do with me, my life doesn't even worth anything,” Diana answered, causing him to growl inwardly as his face began to twist with irritation, frustrated with the way she was acting clueless,
“Are you mocking me?” he spat,
“Look around you, princess,” he said with a dangerously low voice,
“There is nothing left to save, why don't you join us so you can stop running and hiding, I’m sure my master will take you in,” Diana looked at him and smiled,
“Kindly extend my deepest apology to your master, I’m afraid I am too lacking to work for him, so I will have to reject your offer," she said, Dorian continues to stare at her for a few seconds,
“I guess we have to do it the hard way then,” he said and raise his hand, immediately his troops began to march in one by one with their swords drawn and slowly began to move closer to us,
“Now!” Diana yelled and before Dorian could reach for her, she opened a portal and pushed me in it,
“No..." I could hear the echoes of Dorian's voice as he screams angrily.
