As he left Alyssa, he wondered what his father could be calling for.
An emergency? He hoped it was not going to take him away from Alyssa tonight.
He met his cousin and they walked to the other end of the beach.
As he walked further away from her, he thought of the fact that for some reason he had not wanted to leave her alone at the beach but then he knew she was not in any danger so he just made sure he attended to whatever the issue was as quickly as possible.
“What’s the issue?”
He asked his cousin once they were out of sight and far enough that they would not be heard.
“Uncle called and he said he wanted us to be together when he called.”
“What? Why?”
