JASON POV
I didn’t realize I was patiently waiting for Kayden until he arrived. I dropped every single thing I was doing to focus on him, to watch as he timidly entered my office and kept a distance between us. It’s not like I was doing anything special, and my interest in him had taken a special turn. I wanted to know what it was about this boy that seemed so familiar to me. It would take a short moment, but my suspicions would soon be confirmed.
“Sir, I heard you called for me?” He asked.
“Yes,” I said, studying him critically. “How are you doing today?”
“I’m fine sir.”
“Fine enough to start the training today? We discussed this last time we met, didn’t we? That you’d start training with me.”
I saw him visibly gulp before he answered.
“I’m not prepared but I can start today, sir,”
