I looked around, my eyes searching all the exits. If I ran opposite the house, Jason would definitely see me.
This was too easy for him. I had eluded him for so long only to be caught so easily like this. I couldn’t accept it.

Just as I was about to run in the exact direction that I came in—which would put me in the spotlight—I heard Luna’s voice piercing the air.
I froze, and so did Jason.
He was already standing in my line of sight. If he turned slightly to the right, he’d see me for sure. Instead, he turned back as Luna approached him, closing the distance between them.
“Alpha Jason, is everything alright?” she asked.
I frowned. Had she invited him here?
My heart started to pound. What if she found out exactly who he was to me and then brought him here to capture
