I felt numb.
Two days. That was all I had left before I was forced out of school.
Two days, and my dreams, my plans, my one shot of escaping a miserable cycle was snatched away from me. There was no way I was able to escape rustication after my results came back positive. The principal hadn’t given me enough time. Matter of fact, he was so angry that he decided I was to leave school in two days.
As I walked back to class to gather my things, the whispers started. They weren’t even trying to be discreet. They pointed directly at me and said it boldly in passing, making sure that I would hear.
