Chapter FortyAfter Larry Parker's release from custody, Detectives Smithers and Jones had followed him very closely. His first stop had been his home, where his parents had warmly welcomed him on the doorstep. Both detectives had wondered whether he might stay there for the rest of the day. However, a short while later, Larry left the house and caught a bus heading towards the city centre. Changing routes along the way, he eventually ended up on the quayside.
“I think we can guess where he's going to from here,” Jones said, taking out his phone. “I'll report in.”
Smithers nodded. “Yes, but we still need to keep an eye on him.”
